While “Wonder Woman” is still a few months from hitting theaters, fans are now getting a few hints of what could be the backstory of the Amazonian Princess named Diana. Warner Bros is very careful on unveiling the major plot details of the movie just to keep the fans’ excitement up until the film finally hits cinemas.
Supporting Cast Ewen Bremner, who is apparently busy in his current black comedy drama film entitled “T2: Trainspotting,” managed to share a glimpse of his character’s involvement in the film’s backstory.
Though the details and origin of his character have not been fully revealed yet, Bremner discloses how he will be part of Wonder Woman’s unlikely small troop of soldiers.
He mentioned that his character is a shell-shocked soldier who has been discharged from the war and is brought back to help on a secret mission and that is why he gets enlisted by Wonder Woman to play his part in saving the world.
It can be recalled that during the “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” film, Bruce Wayne, played by Ben Affleck, sent Diana, also known as Wonder Woman a 1918 photo of her alongside a few soldiers involving Bremner’s character.
Apparently, Bremmer’s character has a major role to the possible point that he may actually come face-to-face with the film’s main antagonist, Ares. as revealed in recent reports.
Ewen Bremner is a Scottish actor who has appeared already in several hit films like “Alien vs Predator,” “Perfect Sense,” and “Pearl Harbor,” where he performed alongside Ben Affleck who currently plays as Batman.
Rumors have spread already saying that Wonder Woman will have her major antagonist named Ares, an ancient Greek God of War.
It is said that aside from Wonder Woman’s mission to stop the threat among humans to spark World War I, Princess Diana as Wonder Woman, played by Gal Gadot, will go hand in hand with the soldiers to face her new enemy.
There are recent reports saying that Ares will be against mankind out of jealousy for the favor of his father, Zeus, who apparently sided with Wonder Woman’s people, the Amazons.
There are also speculations saying that Danny Huston is Ares who would also be playing as a German commander.
While Warner Bros has not confirmed the speculations as of yet as they seem to be keeping it under wraps, there seems to be a semblance of truth to the rumors as Danny Huston shall reportedly face Diana, as shown in a recent trailer.
As also seen in the video clip, Diana is about to take her sword to kill Danny Huston while they are both parts of an elite party. It is possible that Huston shall also be hiding his identity from Diana.
The film could be taking a new story arc for Wonder Woman, assuming the rumors are on target, and it shall veer away from its comic version, in which she is the daughter of Zeus which makes Ares her half brother actually.
Meanwhile, Director Patty Jenkins recently revealed that the movie will center around Diana’s sort of rebellion to her mother, Queen Hippolyta played by Connie Nielsen.
While it seems to be a major plot for Wonder Woman’s backstory, Jenkins seems to be not worried on disclosing it to the fans.
According to Jenkins, Diana will disobey her mother to help end the World War in Europe by stealing a powerful blade known as the God Killer.
