Jon Snow is without doubt one of the most iconic characters of “Game of Thrones”, and one of the most talked about personalities on TV as a whole. There’s a lot of mystery and drama involved in his story arcs, and the recent controversy around his possible death has generated a lot of discussion among the show’s fans.
And while so far he’s managed to come out alive and well from everything the writers have thrown his way, many fans are certain that he’ll meet his death sooner or later. This is, after all, “Game of Thrones”, one of the most notorious shows on TV when it comes to killing off its main characters. Seeing Jon Snow dead would hardly surprise anyone.
At the same time, it’s starting to seem like his character is developing “plot armor”, as is evident by the multiple unsuccessful “attempts” to remove him from the screen. That would fit the lore of “Game of Thrones” relatively well, although his character has been established with certain characteristics that could make this difficult.
It’s not just about his human nature – he’s also been shown as a more pure and simple version of those around him (in a good way, of course), and granting him special powers all of a sudden could go against that significantly. But then, the show’s characters are constantly evolving from one season to the next, and perhaps this is a transitional period for Jon Snow, leading up to something even more interesting in his future.
In any case, we’re sure that we’re going to see Jon Snow in the center of the spotlight for quite a lot longer, and he’ll likely be a persistent force in the show.
Fans have been looking forward to the next installment in George R. R. Martin’s book series for hints about what could be coming up for Jon Snow next, but it’s not clear when they will get to go through its pages at this point. While we’ve seen promises that the book will be ready at some point in 2017, many of Martin’s fans have apparently started to lose hope in the author’s responsibility to his work.
