Lady Gaga is set to deliver a historic performance in the halftime show of Super Bowl LI that will pit the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos to be held at Houston’s NRG Stadium on February 5.
Since being officially named as the Super Bowl’s halftime performer in September last year, Lady Gaga has been hard at work as she promised to deliver a powerful performance that would be a wonderful experience for the whole family.
In an interview in October last year, the “Bad Romance” singer said that she wants every guy’s girlfriend in his arms and she also wants every husband and wife kissing and every kid laughing while she performs during the Super Bowl LI halftime show.
She added that in her mind, the fans are having a really powerful experience watching the Super Bowl.
Preparing for football’s biggest night
On January 6, the 30-year-old singer posted on Instagram a first behind-the-scenes photo of her rehearsal for the Super Bowl halftime show.
She was seen having a discussion with her musicians as they craft a set which she said is destined to garner a lot of applause during the Super Bowl LI halftime show.
Obviously, the “Poker Face” singer is leaving no stones unturned in ensuring that she delivers a great performance for football’s biggest night.
Lady Gaga said that she will be riding her beautiful white horse after she posted on Instagram on January 5 that her preparation was a halftime warm-up giddy-up, reports People.
Delivering her most popular tracks
Just like the A-list music artists who performed in the Super Bowl halftime show before her including Beyonce, Katy Perry, and Coldplay, in 2014, 2015, and 2016, respectively, and legendary music icons like Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Diana Ross, Bruce Springsteen, among many others, Lady Gaga will deliver her most popular tracks including those from her recently-released fifth studio album, entitled “Joanne.”
She was all praises for the iconic music artists who performed during the Super Bowl halftime show saying that she loved all of the halftime shows and that her father was a big fan and so was she.
Lady Gaga said that there is a distinct feeling of American patriotism in performing for the Super Bowl halftime show, notes Us Weekly.
While it would be her first time to perform in the Super Bowl halftime show, Lady Gaga has already been in last year’s Super Bowl L as she sang the national anthem at the Levi’s Stadium in Sta. Clara, California.
In an interview back then, she told the NFL that she has always wanted to sing the national anthem at a major sporting event since she was a little girl.
She considered the opportunity as one of the highest honors of her career because she gets to sing for the athletes who have been working so hard their whole life for such moment.
In the Instagram post, she shared recently, Lady Gaga was seen wearing a red-and-white tracksuit with ‘Lady Gaga 16’ emblazoned on the back while chatting with members of her music ensemble.
It was in September last year when the NFL formally announced that the six-time Grammy Award winner will be headlining the halftime show of the Super Bowl LI. Prior to the announcement, there were reports that the NFL and Pepsi initially sought Adele to be this year’s halftime show performer.
One week later, Lady Gaga confirmed the news on Twitter by posting that it is not an illusion and that the rumors are true when she validated that the Super Bowl shall go Gaga in 2017.
Lady Gaga also shared recently a cute Snapchat video of her French bulldog pup, Gustav, barking at her.
