The Sims 5 To Incorporate VR Technologies, EA Offers Holiday Sale On Sims 4. Will They Redeem Themselves With The Next Installment?

The Sims have continued to be one of the most popular games. In spite of its popularity, the game hasn’t evolved much since it was first released. While there are fans, who love the game since it has remained similar to its original gameplay, there are some who feel that the game tends to become a little repetitive in the consequent installments.

The demand for variety and a dash of newness has forced EA to come up with something new for The Sims 5. Yibada reported that EA is looking to introduce virtual reality into the game.

Virtual reality and 360-degree technologies have created a buzz in the gaming community, and EA doesn’t want The Sims community to lose out on the thrill. There aren’t any official announcement on the upcoming installment, but rumors suggest that The Sims 5 might be ready for a 2019 release.

Fans have criticized The Sims 4. The game lacked performance and hardly packed in new details and features. The game developers have tried to make up for the lack of popularity by providing the players with new contents for the game with the help of DLCs.

The latest DLC that EA has released for The Sims 4 is “Holiday Celebration Pack.” The DLC was tailor-made for the current holiday season. The players got a chance to lay their hands on a fireplace, a centerpiece for their dinner table and nutcrackers with the new DLC.

Reports suggest that players can get the new DLC by right clicking on the title of the game and opt for an update. The full instruction and features of the new patch and downloadable content is available on the Sims Community Info page.

The holiday special expansion pack came right after the paid City Living DLC. The first expansion pack allowed the players the chance to survive in a city. The Sims could perform activities that define city living and survive in the urban setup.

Given the lack of takers, the game saw a massive drop in the base price. The current price for the game is €19.99, which is a huge drop from the introductory €59.99. Mobile & Apps reported that the holiday sale for the expansion packs for The Sim 4 is EA’s only scope to cover the losses and they will continue the sale until the first week of January.

While the City Living expansion pack, is available at €19.99, EA is offering the Get Together DLC for the same price after a massive discount of over €20. Following the debacle of The Sims 4, EA will not leave any stones unturned to make sure that they can cover their losses with The Sims 5.

The developers are working hard to improve the content and visuals of the game. As rumors suggest that EA will introduce 360-degree technology, the gameplay of The Sims 5 is likely to improve. However, EA knows that if it wants to incorporate latest technologies, they will be required to increase their budget for the development of the game.

The budget becomes an issue since the EA is skeptical about the fan response to the upcoming installment given the lack of interest in the fourth installment of The Sims. EA is hopeful that the inclusion of latest technologies might provide the game a chance to redeem the record of The Sims 4.

Game N Guide reported that players are excited about the integration of virtual reality and 360-degree technologies. They have so far had a third-person perspective of their Sims, even though they are in most cases their online avatars. With the VR technology, the players will get a chance to see the world like the Sims, and this might enhance the experience of the game.
