The Batman Might Not Star Ben Affleck, Actor Sounds Skeptical About His Participation. Warner Bros. Might Continue Without Affleck!

The rumor that had been circulating for a while now suggests that Ben Affleck will get his solo outing as Batman. The working title for the Ben Affleck movie by Warner Bros. would be called The Batman.

Rumors also suggested that Ben Affleck was working on the script along with DC Comic heads, Geoff Johns. Affleck was supposed to write, direct and star in The Batman. However, The Guardian reported that The Batman might not become a reality after all.

Affleck spoke out during an interview and said that he plans on working on a solo Batman outing, but no concrete decision is made, and they still don’t have a working script. If the whole idea doesn’t come together as he had thought it would, he might decide to back out from the project after all.

This interview with Affleck has upset the fans. They have been waiting for The Batman with a lot of anticipation. The report suggested that the film is currently in the pre-production stage and the work on the movie is expected to begin sometime around April. With Affleck stating that they still don’t have a script to work on, the fans are worried that The Batman might not become a reality.

While Affleck might not sound confident about working on The Batman, Movie Web reported that Warner Bros. is already working on the project on their part and are sticking to a schedule. The movie is likely to start filming in Los Angeles as it was supposed to, even if it meant without Ben Affleck in the lead.

Reports suggest that Warner Bros. will commence shooting for The Batman in Los Angeles. Most of the filming will take place in the Burbank studio. The film will be shot primarily on the soundstage instead of in actual locations. This news suggests that the movie will be more stylized than the Batman trilogy directed by Christopher Nolan.

The DC Comic Universe had come under a bit of a problem when fans claimed that the films from the DC Cinematic Universe are dark and doesn’t work well with most of the cine goers. Batman V Superman was a huge let down, and while some fans are happy with the fact that Ben Affleck has agreed to do the movie only if it matches to his expectation, there are some who fear that the film might continue without him in it.

Even though Warner Bros. hasn’t confirmed any news, speculations suggest that Ben Affleck will be Batman, Joe Manganiello will play the role of the villain for the movie, Deathstroke. Warner Bros. has roped in J.K Simmons to play the role of Commissioner Jim Gordon while Jeremy Irons will be back as Alfred.

The Batman

While fans wait for Warner Bros. to come up with an update on The Batman, they can watch the caped crusader in his next outing in Justice League where he will share space with Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and Aquaman (Jason Momoa).

Affleck hasn’t had a good time in the box-office since neither Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice nor Suicide Squad did well. All his hopes are riding on Justice League, but since it will include numerous other actors, it won’t be his solo outing. Given that Affleck’s Live by Night is considered his first real flop, he is desperate to work on a film that can do wonders in the box-office.
