Fifty Shades Darker Releases New TV Spot a Month Before Film’s Global Premiere!

A month before the highly anticipated sequel to “Fifty Shades of Grey” hits theaters, a new “Fifty Shades Darker” TV spot was released on New Year’s Eve.

The 32-second clip features the scenes that were unseen in past trailers. It also features the Zayn Malik and Taylor Swift collaboration single “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever,” which plays in the background.

The song was released last month and follows Miguel’s version of Beyonce’s “Crazy In Love,” which was featured in the first official trailer.

E! News reports that Swift wrote the track with the help of Jack Antonoff and Sam Dew. Malik was the first person to approach Swift with the idea.

The short clip opens with a montage of Ana and Christian, played by Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, respectively, enjoying each other’s company.

The two are seen sharing a hot PDA session after getting stuck in a rainstorm, as well as cuddling in bed together. Flashes to the iconic masquerade ball was also featured.

However, things turn darker when Ana asks Christian if he knows someone by the name of Kristen, who appears to be following them.

Back in September, Universal released the film’s first official trailer, amassing 114 million views in its first 24 hours from various digital platforms.

The first trailer gave fans a glimpse of all the steamy and sexy scenes the film has in store. It also introduces Leila and Elena Lincoln, who appear to be bad news for the couple.

Much like the trailer, the TV spot also garnered many views hours upon its release.

Kim Basinger’s Elena Lincoln and Bella Heathcote’s Leila Williams were also highlighted in the TV spot as the women from Christian’s past.

Avid readers of the novel know that Elena Lincoln also known as Mrs. Robinson was a huge part of Christian’s childhood. She and Christian still maintain their connection and are business partners – an arrangement that won’t sit well with Ana.

Leila, on the other hand, will be a pivotal character in the sequel. She is one of Christian’s former submissive who went estranged after the billionaire cut their ties.

Her arrival in the story will drive a wedge between the growing relationship between Christian and Ana and will cast doubt on Ana if she really can be enough for Mr. Grey.

The new trailer shows Ana’s car splashed with white paint and further vandalized, obviously, Leila’s doing. Christian also seems to be on with this new threat and is deadbeat on protecting Ana.

The film, to hit theaters on February 10, follows months after the events of “Fifty Shades of Grey.” Ana tries to move on from Christian, but a wounded Christian convinces her to resume their romance under Ana’s conditions.

While it seems that Ana has a certain magic that changes the eccentric Mr. Grey, his past starts to haunt him and threatens their relationship.

The final installment of the franchise, originally written by E.L James, will hit cinemas on February 9, 2018, closing out the sensual trilogy.

Most of the cast from the first films will reprise their roles in the second and third installments. Eric Johnson joins the cast as Jack Hyde, Ana’s boss who has a liking for her.

Brant Daughtery, Tyler Hoechlin, and Hugh Dancy also join the cast as Like Sawyer, Boyce Fox, and Dr. John Flynn, respectively. Robinne Lee and Fay Masterson also join to the roster as Ros Bailey and Gail Jones, respectively.

Both sequels were filmed back-to-back with principal photography starting as early as June 2015 in Vancouver, Canada. However, it was postponed to February 2016 due to script delays.

James Foley directed both films after Sam Taylor-Johnson left the franchise over rumors that she always did not agree with E.L James.
