Ex-married couple Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony has been very open about praising each other when word got out of their collaborative undertaking featuring a Spanish album for the triple threat celebrity.
However, the rumors and speculations went out of hand when reports came out that Marc Anthony also confirmed his divorce from model Shannon de Lima.
It can be recalled that J-Lo just dumped her former choreographer-dancer boyfriend Casper Smart a few months ago so when she and her ex-husband started working on a new Spanish album, rumors of sparks flying between them started circling around.
It also did not help the speculations from slowing down when both artists started praising each other’s talents as musicians as if they are active members of the mutual admiration society.
Jennifer Lopez and her former husband Marc Anthony were in attendance during the Latin Grammy Awards held on November 17.
When Marc Anthony kissed his ex-wife, he admitted later that the sign of affection he showed may not just be platonic.
A source disclosed that the Latin singer disclosed that he is still in love with the 47-year-old “Booty” singer and that he is trying to get back together with her.
Marc Anthony and J-Lo split in July 2011 after seven years of marriage and both are currently single.
Non-existent romance
However, gossip-debunking site probed the rumors and found out from sources close to both Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony that the speculations are totally false.
An online magazine known for publishing unfounded rumors claimed that Jennifer Lopez and the 48-year-old Marc Anthony have been going on many private dates lately and were said to be planning a wedding date soon.
Accordingly, the ex-spouses have been spotted going to each other’s homes and really having some intimate time together. The same report also claims that the couple is not yet ready to go public with their rekindled romance. It also added that the pair will officially announce during the New Year that they have gotten back together again.
But a closer investigation of the rumors revealed that J-Lo and Marc Anthony are not back together as a couple so there would be no New Year announcement over a non-existent romance.
A plan that backfired
Incidentally, there are also reports going around that Jennifer Lopez orchestrated the generous amount of publicity when she and actor Ben Affleck were dating over 14 years ago.
J-Lo and Ben Affleck were once in a very public relationship that when they broke up, they got caught in the middle of a media storm.
Sources claimed that it was Jennifer Lopez who wanted more publicity out of their relationship because Ben Affleck was a big star in Hollywood at that time.
The same insiders claimed that Lopez wanted to generate as much publicity from their relationship as possible. She wanted the media to treat ‘Bennifer’ as the most epic love story in Hollywood history, reports the Inquisitr.
Unfortunately for the pair, their constant media coverage eventually backfired against them. So when they broke up, Ben Affleck actually had four movies in a row that did not earn money at the box office.
Ben Affleck came out later and talked about their relationship and said that the reason it became a huge deal was because people have been seeing more of them in public and on the news.
Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez has gotten a black eye late last month while filming Season 2 of the American crime drama TV series “Shades of Blue” on NBC.
And it has nothing to do with somebody hitting her in the eye and giving her that shiner because apparently, it was caused by an accident.
On November 30, J-Lo posted on her Instagram account of a close-up photo of her face complete with her black eye and no make-up. She captioned her image post by saying that sometimes work can be rough, adding ‘lol’ to indicate that she just took it in stride because she was having fun doing what she does.
