‘Justice League’ Jason Momoa Shares Video of How He Balances His Time with Shooting as Aquaman and Spending Time with His Daughter

“Justice League” star Jason Momoa, who plays the superhero character Aquaman, has recently shared a more than eight-minute video showing how he balances his time with shooting as a DC superhero character in the upcoming movie and also spending a lot of moments with his daughter.

The video, entitled “Canvas of My Life,” is actually part of the actor’s engagement with clothing outlet Carhartt which he is representing as image model.

The film clip also includes some behind-the-scenes shots of “Justice League” showing the actor coming out of the water as Aquaman and some critics are saying that with his well-chiseled body, Jason Momoa was like shooting a commercial for a swim wear, notes the Games Radar.

In one of the shots, it was shown that Aquaman was emerging from the water while another scene shows him and Director Zack Snyder discussing a possible next scene while at the edge of the shore.

Out of the water finally

It can be recalled that when Aquaman first came out in “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” shown in March this year, he was seen swimming through the sea where the King of Atlantis lives.

It was not until the first trailer of “Justice League” came out during the San Diego ComicCon in July this year that Aquaman was seen out of the water, details Polygon.

Jason Momoa will be joining the star-studded cast of “Justice League” that includes Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg. Other stars include J.K. Simmons, Willem Dafoe, Amber Heard, Amy Adams, Jeremy Iron, and a lot more.

“Justice League” will hit theaters on November 17, 2017.

In the Aquaman storyline of “Justice League,” Jason Momoa will be joined by Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, and Willem Dafoe. Heard will play Queen Mera, Aquaman’s wife, while Wilson will take on the role of Aquaman’s evil half-brother, Orm. Dafoe is confirmed to play the role of Nuidis Vulko, a scientific advisor to Aquaman and Atlantis.

Jason Momoa as Aquaman will have his stand-alone movie slated to hit theaters on October 5, 2018.

Full evolution of the DCEU

In the comic books, DC used to enjoy a clear advantage over Marvel. The same is true for animated series.

However, things seem to have changed in favor of Marvel when Disney Pictures acquired Marvel Studios. Given the resources and the level of promotional reach of Disney, Marvel shot past over DC almost 10 years ago especially when it introduced the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) with the first “Iron Man” movie shown in 2008.

It was only in 2013, or some five years after the MCU has already been introduced, that the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) was introduced in the movies through the film “Man of Steel,” which critics thought was a darker rendition of Superman.

But Warner Bros, which is producing the DCEU films, is not as big as Disney when it comes to the promotional hype of MCU films, which is why the three DCEU films that have been shown thus far were not as prolific as more than half of the 14 MCU movies that already came out in theaters.

In simpler terms, the three DCEU films including “Man of Steel,” “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” and “Suicide Squad” were blockbuster films alright but none of them has broken the billion dollar mark which four MCU films already did including “Marvel’s The Avengers,” “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” “Iron Man 3,” and “Captain America: Civil War.”

Still, the scenario does not affect Warner Bros in gradually paving the way for the full evolution of the DCEU in the movies with two movies in store next year including “Wonder Woman” to be shown on June 2 and the DC superhero ensemble “Justice League.”
