Recently, the show has announced that it would be back for a fourth season. A season that would be shorter than the others and that it would most likely be the last season of the show. The show takes place in 2077 and includes a “technologically advanced, high surveillance police state”. The show takes on time travel and other technologies that we have only been talking about now in the modern day. There are 11 main characters led by Rachel Nichols as a law enforcement agent in the year 2077 and more than 15 recurring characters that fans need to keep up with.
Recently, actress Rachel Nichols took to Twitter to announce that she would be back with the rest of the cast for season 4. Stating that show was getting its “final, fourth season” might have caught fans off guard, but at least the show is coming back. Another source stated that the show was coming back in 2015, but it would be a shortened season containing just 6 episodes. The first three seasons of the show saw 10, 13 and 13 episodes, respectively. So this is really just going to be a half season meant to wrap up things that were left open after season 3.
The SyFy channel will be importing the television show from Canada for American viewers as it has done for the past 3 seasons. Since the show was announced to be ending, fans and the actors have taken to the web to speak about that fact. Nichols says that every single great story deserves an end and that season 4 will be bringing the “riveting conclusion” it deserves.
The ending of the story has been dedicated to the millions of loyal fans that have been supporting the show since it was first released. Fans of the show have also been taking to the web stating they wish the show was continuing after this season, but understand what has been reported. Continuum Season 4 will be finished filming in the spring of next year and the episodes will be shown later on in the year.
