The release date for the newest season of “Hawaii Five-0” has just been confirmed, and the show will arrive to the screen on January 1st. We’ve also been given a glimpse into the new stories that are about to unfold, and it looks like the producers don’t have any plans to tone down the explosive nature of the show.
The very first episode is going to open up with a dramatic story, sending the team on the tracks of a serial killer terrorizing Hawaii. Their job will have serious implications, as there are fears that the killer’s actions could have long-lasting effects on the local community, and it will be important for the team to tackle things in a delicate manner.
Of course, we have no doubt that McGarrett and the rest of the crew are going to bend some rules to get things done, as they often do. It’s what fans would want to see in the end, and it’s part of what makes this show so fun to watch in general.
There are also rumors about some changes in the general formula coming up, but nothing has been confirmed so far. Among those rumors are talks about a possible restructuring of the main cast, something which immediately caused a controversial reaction among fans.
It’s true that a long time has passed since the show arrived to the screen and its formula could be getting a little stale in the eyes of some fans, but on the other hand, that’s no reason to introduce drastic changes just for the sake of making things different.
Even more so when it comes to the show’s cast, an aspect which fans are particularly fond of at the moment. It’s actually commendable how much effort the producers seem to have put into finding the perfect combination of actors to play the roles, and there is some pretty good chemistry on the screen all the time.
Some of those who’ve watched the original show even claim that the modern “Hawaii Five-0” has managed to handle the premise in a better way, but it’s arguable how far one can go in comparing the two productions. They’re the products of entirely different periods, and the original show still managed to generate a lot of hype and drew a lot of attention to itself, leaving fans with a positive impression.
And while some people have been worried that the exploits of McGarrett and the team could be getting a little stale by this point, this doesn’t seem to be a risk for now. The writers have managed to keep things fresh with plenty of interesting side plots, and the show actually maintained a strong side story from the very beginning.
At the same time, the producers didn’t kill off the original idea – weekly cases that the team has to tackle – something which usually happens with other shows after they’ve been on the screen for a while.
Fans are still able to enjoy watching the team go after yet another “criminal of the week”, and this has managed to keep the show fresh and interesting. At the same time, it also has a lot of potential to keep drawing new people in, as they can be attracted by the current weekly plot. After that, they can get into the rest of the story by seeking out older episodes and catching up with what’s happened on the show.
