Season 4 of the American crime drama TV series “The Blacklist” on NBC is now on a hiatus after airing its fall finale and eighth episode on November 10.
Episode 9 of “The Blacklist” Season 4 is set to premiere on NBC on January 5 next year and based on the spoilers, it hints at the possibility that Samar Navabi, played by Mozhan Marno, is the mole in Red’s elite team.
During the fall finale episode, it was already mentioned that a mole is working inside Red’s team and based on the rumors and latest reports, the consensus of the identity of the undercover agent or double agent for that matter, is Samar.
Based on the promo teaser of the upcoming ninth episode of “The Blacklist” Season 4, Red discovers that someone from the FBI task force is hiding as a secret agent, which puts the entire country in danger.
Red then informs Harold Cooper, played by Harry Lenix, about the imminent threat and immediately conducts a probe on the matter, details iTech Post.
There are only four people to choose from and these are Donald Ressler, played by Diego Klattenhoff, Liz Keene, played by Megan Boone, Aram, played by Amir Arison, and Samar. One of them is the mole. In the teaser trailer, the faces of the four come out on the screen one by one and Samar is the last to be seen.
Still a complete puzzle
While the teaser seems to hint of Samar as the mole in the FBI task force, those who are familiar with “The Blacklist” could not really understand how Samar can become involved in a terrorist group.
But it can be recalled that she joined the FBI task force sometime in Season 2 from the Mossad Arab special forces group. She was able to extract Red from a hotel in an attack helicopter and she was taken in by Harold in the task force.
Thus far, the only thing that was disclosed about Samar’s background is that she is an Iranian-born Baloch who entered the Mossad after her parents were maltreated and killed by the Iranian government.
Episode 9 is titled “Lipet’s Seafood Company” so it would be interesting to see how the episode would unmask Samar as the mole in the FBI task force, assuming that she really is.
Forced to say that he is Liz’s father
During the fall finale episode of “The Blacklist,” Red was forced into claiming that he is actually the long lost father of Liz Keen, which no longer came as a surprise to the fans of the TV series, reports Blasting News.
Show lead writer Daniel Cerone said that all the confusing stuff that happened during the midseason finale of “The Blacklist” Season 4 will come together to make sense in the second half.
Cerone also said that Red’s very shocking confession is actually part of a much more elaborate plan which would be known by the Season 4 finale.
After the eighth episode of “The Blacklist” Season 4 entitled “Dr. Adrian Shaw: Conclusion” that aired on NBC on November 10, it seems that the mystery about Liz’s real father went back to the beginning theory – that Raymond ‘Red’ Reddington, played by James Spader, is likely to be the one.
Fans already anticipated the big reveal in episode 8 when Kirk asks Red if he is the father of Liz. Over the course of three and a half seasons of “The Blacklist,” the show has hinted it time and again but Red never bothered in clarifying that mystery.
During the supposed death of Liz Keen during the last few episodes of Season 3, it was shown how Red was devastated with her loss. But as it turned out, it was just a ploy for her and Tom and their daughter Agnes to get away from Red as well as his mysterious past.
It seems unlikely for “The Blacklist” to give the answer to the true connection or relationship of Red and Liz anytime soon but it was clear that Alexander Kirk and his storyline was done and over with in episode 8.
