Kate Upton Expresses Disgust on Twitter for Major League Baseball’s Flawed System in Determining Cy Young Award Winner

Justin Verlander, the pitcher of the Detroit Tigers baseball team in Major League Baseball (MLB), may be very proud to have supermodel Kate Upton as his fiancé and likely future wife.

Not only is Kate Upton pretty and gorgeous, she also sticks to her man and defends him at all cost and Verlander is really lucky to have someone as famous and popular who has his back all the time.

More than a week ago, Kate Upton expressed her disgust on Twitter and ranted against MLB particularly on what she described as a flawed system in handing out the prestigious Cy Young Award.

Upton is obviously pinning for her fiancé to cop the award but it went to Verlander’s teammate Rick Porcello.

Kate Upton was complaining that her fiancé was left off a couple of Cy Young ballots that kept him from winning the AL award, reports USA Today.

Criticizing the system not the winner

Almost a week later, the 24-year-old supermodel clarified that she was not actually ripping Porcello but was taking a swipe at the flawed system in Cy Young Award voting.

Based on their statistics, Porcello edged out Verlander so the former’s receipt of the 2016 Cy Young Award was somehow justified.

In Verlander’s final two starts, he pitched 7 2/3 scoreless innings with 12 strikeouts against the Cleveland Indians, then pitched seven innings of one-run ball with eight strikeouts against the Atlanta Braves, which lowered his season ERA to 3.04.

For his part, Porcello gave up six runs in 12 1/3 innings in his final two starts, causing his ERA to rise up to 3.15.

In defending her fiancé for the Cy Young Award, Kate Upton ranted on Twitter that Verlander had the majority of 1st place votes and was surprised to learn later that two writers did not have Verlander on their ballots. She indirectly asked MLB if they can pick out of touch people to vote.

She also ranted some more when she said that Rick Porcello did not get any 1st place votes so he should not be the winner. She also told MLB to keep up with the times and fire those writers, reports Forbes.

Now that the baseball season is off following the victory of the Chicago Cubs in the World Series against the Cleveland Indians last month, Justin Verlander is often seen again with his fiancé, supermodel Kate Upton.

The 24-year-old supermodel seemed to have cleared her modeling and acting schedules to accommodate the annual break of her 33-year-old fiancé from baseball, that they were recently spotted putting on a tactile display on their romantic Italian vacation.

The pair were spotted walking arm-in-arm on November 12 as they toured the beautiful sights of Florence, Italy snapping photographs and indulging in some gelato.

Kate Upton was wearing a stylish tan pea coat, which she wore slung across her shoulders. Justin Verlander, on the other hand, wore an all-black ensemble.

The supermodel also carried a small, pink cross body purse and was seen taking pictures using her smartphone as she and Justin walk the streets of Florence.
