The British iconic rock band Queen and Adam Lambert had a performance during the Summer Sonic festival in Japan on August 17, 2014 which many Japanese found to be really memorable.
Apparently, the warm reception and the performance were not lost on the organizers of the festival that a “Live in Japan” DVD of Queen + Adam Lambert is set to be launch next month in the country.
The official title of the DVD is “Queen + Adam Lambert – Live in Japan” and it would be released in Japan on December 20, 2016, reports Blabbermouth.
The multi-format release captures the band’s headliner performance during Japan’s largest rock festival called as Summer Sonic held at the Marine Stadium on August 17, 2014.
The release formats of the video include DVD, Blu-ray, DVD + Live CD, Blu-ray + Live CD, DVD or Blu-ray + Live CD, DVD or Blu-ray + Live CD + T-shirt, and Super Deluxe Box set that includes DVD or Blu-ray + Live CD + 2LP + T-shirt + Tote Bag + Photo Book.
A difficult gig for them
The gig also included a performance of Queen guitarist Brian May on the track entitled “Teo Toriatte,” which he specially wrote for Japanese fans, cites Team Rock.
May said that they all thought it was quite a difficult gig since it was so hot and humid. But the Japanese audience was wonderful so they managed to pull it off with great flair.
He added that when they saw the video of their Summer Sonic performance, they all thought it was great and the interaction with the crowd was also superb.
For his part, Adam Lambert explained that the Japanese audience was so passionate and so emotional that they could feel the connection. He added that there is something special in Japan that makes it different in other countries where Queen + Adam Lambert had performed.
An incredible singer
Queen drummer Roger Taylor said that it is possible that the iconic rock band could record new material with Adam Lambert, pointing out that they find it great to know that there is still demand for their kind of music. He said that they also love playing with Adam Lambert, whom he describes as an incredible singer and a lovely man.
Queen + Adam Lambert have earned much critical acclaim from Japanese media and fans alike with their live performances, having successfully wrapped up a three-night run at Nippon Budokan in September 2016.
Brian May also describes Adam Lambert as the only singer the band had found capable of filling the shoes of iconic frontman Freddie Mercury who died of complications from AIDS back in 1991.
The Queen guitarist said that Adam Lambert is the first person they have encountered who can do all the Queen catalog without blinking. May said that Lambert is a gift from God.
Taylor seconded Brian May’s assessment of Adam Lambert, adding that Adam is incredibly musical and they are taking anything the music artist says as quite serious.
Whenever he is not performing as a solo artist or as a frontman for the iconic rock band Queen, Adam Lambert is busy making new music.
A few weeks ago, he was said to be recording some new music with British music artist Sam Smith in a groundbreaking collaboration.
Without everyone knowing it, Adam Lambert has already collaborated with American duo Tritonal, which released a new album entitled “Painting with Dreams.”
It turns out that one of the tracks from the new album features the collaboration of Adam Lambert with the Tritonal in the remix package for the biggest song in the album, the pop-dance single “Broken.”
In addition to Adam Lambert, Tritonal has also worked with seven other producers who have reimagined the remix including British producer Codeko.
Codeko does not veer too far away from the original idea but injects more energy into his own remix. He keeps Adam Lambert’s vocals and then turns up the drop with a mix of synthesizers and fast-paced percussion.
He then draws on some UK influences for the break, adding a jogging bass line that gives the track a more up-tempo danceable beat.
