The first installment of the Disney venture, Frozen, was a big hit which has raised the expectations of the viewers from its second installment. Frozen 2 is expected to release sometime in 2018 and the news have started to pour in. Disney is yet to disclose the exact date with an official announcement.
The theme of the film is expected to be the same as the first one that is of love. Frozen revolved around Elsa’s sister Anna and the love she finds Kristoff. In Frozen 2, fans are hoping that Elsa finds her love as well. The reports suggest that it will be difficult for whoever the man will be due to Elsa’s introvert personality.
However, a crossover involving Jack Frost is rumored. This is so because the fans have always pictured the character from The Rise of the Guardians to be a perfect match for Elsa. A crossover was made in Frozen as well when Rapunzel and Eugene from Tangled were brought together in the film.
Even though their role was for a split second, the fans are looking forward to something similar in the second film as well. However, the secret regarding Elsa’s love interest has been maintained
The expectations of finding love are not just attached to Elsa. The fans are looking forward to Olaf finding his love too. Olaf’s innocence made a special connection with the audience in the previous installment which is why Olaf finding love will not only be a smart move with respect to an interesting storyline, a snow woman will also add to the strategy to market the film with the help of merchandise.
The reason behind production delays is that the actor, who plays Queen Elsa, Idina Menzel, is busy with her wedding. However, this isn’t helping Idina’s case as the other cast members aren’t taking it well. This has finally resulted in Idina being replaced for her role in the film.
Kristen Bell and Josh Gad have not been thrilled about the constant rescheduling of the recording sessions. Despite the fact that the delay gives Frozen 2 more time to prepare but the director feared losing the other two voices as well. The special treatment being given to Idina had already led to threats from the two actors about quitting the franchise.
The choice for Idina’s replacement was a choice between Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato. The celebrities have not yet commented on their casting and neither have the other cast members.
The film was popular due to its spectacular sing along tunes. Disney hopes to stand for those expectations as well. A step towards its confirmation is that Taylor Swift has agreed to sing the OST of the film irrespective of the casting rumors.
In another interview with Kristen Bell (Anna), she assures the viewers that the slow production of film isn’t something to be worried about. It will be as big a sensation as the first film whether it comes out in a few days or years. The film will be as perfect as it is expected to be and will blow the fans’ minds.
Disney has been taking its time to come up with the final story with tweaks and changes incorporated. Kristen also confirmed that due to the first film being such a classic hit, the pressure to exude excellence has risen.
It was after a long time and contemplation that the team arrived at finally starting with the production of the film and narrow down on the point that the film will try to convey.
