In spite of the current season of Dance Moms still running, it seems that the future of the show looks bleak. This is due to the fact that the dance coach Abby Lee Miller is caught up in legal problems still. Previously accused of fraud and violation of currency laws, Miller is tied up with matters of the court at the moment.
According to recent reports, after pleading guilty on the 27th of June last year, it is being said that her sentencing will be even further delayed. The delay as it turns out, was not because of a request the reality star herself, but due to a scheduling conflict.
A statement was filed by the U.S. Attorney David Hickton relating to this matter in the federal court. It said that the sentencing of the cases which were scheduled for Friday, December 2 of 2016, will be held, due to the unavailability of the Government counsel on Friday, January 20 of 2017, at a convenient time of the court.
Moreover, it was disclosed that a proposal was submitted to the government for Judge Joy Flowers Conti, which will move the date some time further. Reports suggest that this proposal is expected to be approved.
Luckily for Miller, this was not the first time she got an extension for her sentencing. A few months ago, Miller and her lawyers received an extension for the initial sentencing date.
As far as the question of how this news is going to affect the hit show Dance Moms, as the seventh season which is to air, is still being filmed in Los Angeles at present we can expect it to hit the TV screens. As Miller is required to request permission when travelling, we know that she has been visiting San Diego and Dublin for working on the show.
According to rumours Team Elite is done with Coach Abby Lee Miller. In a synopsis by TV Guide, the team is jumping ship. In the upcoming episode titled Two Teams, Two Studios Part 1, of Dance Moms, it is believed that the Elite Team will leave Abby Lee’s Dance Company (ALDC) to join Erin Babb’s studio.
Erin Babb is considered to be the biggest rival of Abby Lee.
The moms were very disappointed in the last episode, when Miller seemed to be preferring the juniors over them. The elite team, comprising of KalaniHilliker, Kendall Vertes, Brynn Rumfallo and Nia Frazier, were unable to secure an award during the New York Dance Experience in California.
Miller’s constant focus on the little ones was a reason for complaints of the mothers. During their last performance, the duos had bagged awards. Not just that the routine Cast the First Stone, had scored the overall highest in their division.
Areana Lopez and Elliana Walmsley’s routine of Float Like a Butterfly received gold, whereas Lilliana Ketchman and Peyton Evans’ performance in Sting Like a Bee came first overall. When the moms of the elite team opposed Miller, they told her that it was best to find another studio that would give priority to the girls.
On being confronted, the agitated Miller told them that they were welcome to leave. Later on, Miller told the camera that those mothers were demanding too much and that she had had enough.
The elites’ departure will allegedly force Miller to train the minis further. She hassupposedly give three of the dancers, their first single numbers.
