‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 13 Midseason Finale to Relieve the Tragic Plane Crash in Season 8

The final episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 13 for this year is set to bring up some traumatic memories all the way from Season 8. The last two episodes before the medical drama goes into a hiatus will be tough for Meredith and the rest of the doctors in Sloan Grey Memorial Hospital.

Game & Guide reports that the midseason finale, entitled “You Haven’t Done Nothin,” will be completely set up on a plane. Fans will remember that the doctors of Sloan Grey Memorial Hospital have a miserable experience on a plane during the Season 8 finale.

In the emotional season finale, Meredith, Cristina, Lexie, Arizona, Derek, and Mark fly to assist in a surgery at a hospital in Boise, Idaho when their plane crashed en route to the medical facility.

The episode, entitled “Flight,” marked a huge shift in the series as the show lost Chyler Leigh’s Lexie Grey after she was trapped in the plane and eventually Eric Dane’s Mark Sloan after he sustained serious injuries.

Arizona also injured her leg which was then amputated and caused problems with her and Callie’s relationship that eventually led to their divorce.

ABC has not yet released the synopsis for the November 17 episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 13, but reports say the cast is currently in production which is set entirely on a plane.

Movie News Guide suggests that a crisis will ensue midflight and the doctors will recall the trauma that took them a few years to get over with.

Judging by rumors, it looks like the doctors will have a hard time to address the medical crisis as they will also be dealing with their own traumatic experiences flashing back.

The rumor stemmed when a fan asked TVLine about the possibility of Sara Ramirez’s Callie returning. The website said that Arizona will recall probably the most traumatic and life-changing experience she had and she will be needing a friend to lean on.

Unfortunately, it looks like Callie, along with Cristina, Derek, Mark, and Lexie, will only be mentioned in the episode and will not return as it is not in the cards just yet.

Meanwhile, the penultimate episode before the midseason finale, entitled “The Room Where It Happens” will deal with a tough surgery and Meredith is clobbered by Owen and Dr. Webber with decisions regarding the patient’s life.

The trailer previews the three doctors in the OR bickering about what’s best for the patient on the surgery table. The preview suggests it all comes to a head as blood splatters and the patient’s heart rate eventually drops.

Fans note that Meredith has been placed on the backburner for the current season of “Grey’s Anatomy” and it looks like the episode will be a turning point for her character as she’s fed up of being brushed off.

The upcoming episode will also deal with a blooming love triangle between Alex, Jo, and DeLuca. Since the altercation between Karev and DeLuca during the Season 12 finale, Jo and Alex have called it quits while Alex and DeLuca have also been spending some time together and getting close.

Grey's Anatomy Season 12

The medical drama is set to hit the winter break and return on January 19, 2017, where Shonda Rhimes’ holy trinity will finally make a comeback as the sixth season of “Scandal” will premiere as well.

Completing the trio will be the second half of “How to Get Away with Murder” Season 3, which will also take a hiatus after its November 17 episode.

The midseason finale is expected to bring in a lot of cliffhangers mainly on Alex’ status. Spoilers say that Karev will be fired from the hospital and will eventually go behind bars.
