The upcoming fifth season of the American comedy-drama TV series “Orange is the New Black” on Netflix shall pick up on the fallout after the death of inmate Poussey, played by Samira Wiley, during a prison riot in the Season 4 finale.
Taystee, played by Danielle Brooks, was the first person to know that CO Baxter Bay, played by Alan Aisenberg, was the one who killed Poussey and he was not charged at all with the death of her best friend.
Other inmates were also frustrated that Bay got off the hook for the death of Poussey and Taystee shall reportedly take matters into her own hands to avenge the death of her best friend in the upcoming fifth season, reports Travelers Today.
But the spoiler did not say if Taystee would also kill CO Baxter Bay in the upcoming fifth season of “Orange is the New Black.”
A very different Taystee
Danielle Brooks, in a recent interview, said that viewers would see in Season 5 of “Orange is the New Black” a very different Taystee and the character would be way different from the same one that they saw during the show’s very first episode.
She added that Taystee will change the biggest in the upcoming fifth season of “Orange is the New Black” which will be returning on Netflix in June of next year.
She lost her mother and then she lost her best friend Poussey to a murderer who has not come clean about it so she will turn into a character who is ready for war.
Brooks said that Taystee will be very different from the happy character that inmates and fans have come to know her since the beginning of “Orange is the New Black.”
The idea of a very different Taystee also promises to add more chaos to Litchfield Penitentiary which might result in more deaths.
Definitely not Piper
Among those characters that were rumored to die in the upcoming Season 5 of “Orange is the New Black” is Piper Chapman, played by Taylor Schilling.
Rumors have it that Piper is doomed in the hands of her ex-lover Alex Vause, played by Laura Prepon, or in the hands of her great nemesis in Litchfield, Stella Carlin, played by Ruby Rose, notes the Parent Herald.
Critics find these Piper death rumors as absurd and downright inaccurate because “Orange is the New Black” is actually based on the memoirs of Piper Kerman.
Piper Kerman is being personified in the TV series by Piper Chapman, so she obviously managed to stay alive in prison until she was paroled before writing the memoirs. So it is simply absurd to see Piper Chapman dying in the show.
In fact, the very same set or rumors alluding to Piper Chapman’s death in Season 5 of “Oranges is the New Black” is also saying that if and when Piper dies in the upcoming season, then it is going to be the end for the TV series.
Such notion is again false on all counts since “Orange is the New Black” has already been renewed up to Season 7 and the question is whether there will be more seasons after three years.
Incidentally, the upcoming fifth season of “Orange is the New Black” shall also provide an answer to the cliffhanger whether Dayanara, played by Dascha Polanco, who was last seen pointing a gun at the head of Humphrey, played by Michael Torpey, would really pull the trigger or not.
Polanco said that her character is in a dark place, having been a victim of circumstance, which seems to be a cycle in her life that just keeps on repeating.
