Even though many people expected the situation with the Galaxy Note 7 to be the end of Samsung’s presence on the smartphone market, it looks like the company is still planning to move forward with releasing phones, and that includes the notorious Note line.
Recent reports indicate that Samsung are going to unveil the new Galaxy Note 8 early next year, although no specific details about the phone are known yet. There are plenty of rumors all over the place however, and there is no shortage of speculation among the company’s fans.
Many experts seem to agree that it’s still perfectly possible for Samsung to recover from their disastrous situation, but the company is going to have to put a lot of effort. Not only in their engineering, but in their marketing as well. In fact, the latter is seemingly going to be even more important than ever, as the company has lost a great deal of the trust their users had in them.
What could Samsung change in the new model in order to make it a proper 2017 device while still keeping things safe? The main issue with the safety of the Galaxy Note 7 was its battery, as reports claimed that Samsung had pushed the device too far in trying to expand its capacity.
As long as they don’t repeat any of those experiments, the device should turn out fine in terms of not exploding randomly in people’s pockets – which many would probably agree would be a great step in the right direction.
Other than the issues with the failing battery, people didn’t really have much against the Galaxy Note 7, and in fact many praised the device for everything it had to offer. There is an interesting niche on the smartphone market for a device that offers some serious computing power and comes with an easy to use interface and intuitive control features, and the Note fills that niche pretty much perfectly in the eyes of many.
Productivity should still be the main focus for the company in developing the next phone, and there is a lot more that can be done with modern technology to bring the Galaxy Note 8 even closer to the idea of a pocket assistant that truly helps people in their everyday lives.
Specifications are still the subject of serious speculations and they probably will stay like that for a while, as nobody expects Samsung to spill the beans on such an important detail too early in advance. The company may not even know exactly what kinds of specifications they’ll be aiming for at this stage, so it’s probably not a good idea to invest too much in this type of speculation at the moment.
This hasn’t stopped some of Samsung’s fans from trying to guess what the device could offer though, and the Internet is full of interesting posts with various ideas in this regard. Samsung are most likely reading as well, and we wouldn’t be surprised if they’re scouting for new ideas in those discussions.
It’s also commendable how fast the company managed to control the controversy around the Galaxy Note 7, all things considered. Their initial response to the situation was far from ideal, and many people actively criticized Samsung for the way they approached things and how they tried to sweep everything under the rug. In the end though, the company realized the seriousness of the situation and took matters in their own hands properly.
