Orange Is the New Black is one of the first original series that Netflix is the proud parent of and was actually nominated for three Golden Globes. The third season is expected to be released on Netflix around the middle of next year and when asked about the season, one cast member said that it was “clear as day”. She was explaining how many things are starting to come together in the third season. The show is starting to pick up in popularity and has quite a following online.
There will also be some characters from last season returning for the third season according to online sources. One of those actresses is Lori Petty. One source pointed out that there will be a time jump involved to speed up the birth of a baby between Daya and John Bennett. The filming for the third season just wrapped up and the cast members took to a little celebrating by going to a karaoke bar. There was no exact date for the return of the show, but Netflix did say that you can expect it mid-2015.
The show wrapped up season 2 about 6 months ago, so you can imagine how worked up the fans are getting while they wait for word on the third season. Teasers, photos and other clips are sure to show up online at some point, although it will be closer to the actual release date once that is announced. Some fans have started to speculate about where the characters are going to go, or where they should be in the next season.
One fan said that the relationship between Piper Chapman and Alex Vause is going to looked into a little further, especially since Vause was said to be in all episodes moving forward. Netflix made a comment that Vee is not going to be starring in the next season, however. Lotty is also one character that is set to come back to the show.
Usually when a show makes it this far, the back story of characters starts to come alive and according to one online source, that is going to be the case with Big Boo. She will be revealing more of her back story through flashbacks this upcoming season. Alex is also expected to be flashing back to an earlier time. The characters are starting to go through upgrades as some will become regulars, like Gloria and Poussey just to name a couple.
