‘The Elder Scrolls 6’ Developer Confirms that They are Not Even an Inch in Development of the Game at This Time

Whatever hopes or notions that gamers are still entertaining regarding the release date of the role-playing game “The Elder Scrolls 6” in the near future have been shattered no less by its game developer, Bethesda Studios.

In a tweet on October 18, Pete Hines, vice president for marketing of Bethesda Studios, confirmed that they are not even an inch in development for “The Elder Scrolls 6,” details the iTech Post.

Hines made the post in response to an inquiry from a fan regarding “The Elder Scrolls 6.” He said matter-of-factly that nobody is working on the development of the game at this time.

Apparently, it is consistent with the position of Bethesda when it recently stated that it has three big titles up for development, with the third one being “The Elder Scrolls 6.”

While the first two games were left for the gamers to second-guess, it eventually came out that those two others are the sequels to “The Evil Within” and “Rage.”

It was Todd Howard, game director of Bethesda Studios, who has recently stated that production of “The Elder Scrolls 6” is still a long way off since the company would be focusing initially on the development of the sequels to “The Evil Within” and “Rage.”

In the same interview, Howard said that the game development company is working on two other large projects and that they might be some of the biggest things that Bethesda has done. He also expressed that consumers and fans alike might actually hear news about those even before any details would be released regarding the development of “The Elder Scrolls 6.”

No longer surprising

The push-back in the release date of “The Elder Scrolls 6” is no longer new to Bethesda. The game developer apparently said the same thing about its post-apocalyptic role-playing game “Fallout 4” in the past.

The game was thought to be in development or on its upcoming release, but Bethesda kept saying no. They were even denying reports about it. However, after a couple of months, the first trailer for the game arrived.

Some critics are saying that Hines might be doing the same PR strategy for “The Elder Scrolls 6” as it may be a way for the studio to generate hype to its upcoming game. Or perhaps, Bethesda does not want to count their chickens before the eggs even hatch.

There have been reports that “The Elder Scrolls 6” will have lots of interesting features as well as the possibility of the game introducing a brand new class system as well as a settlements-like feature that were found on “Fallout 4.”

Lessening the enthusiasm on the game

Following the indirect admission of Bethesda Studios that the earliest that the highly-anticipated role-playing game “The Elder Scrolls 6” could come out is in 2019, enthusiasm has somehow lessened for the game.

As it understands that the 2019 release date for “The Elder Scrolls 6” may be a little too much and too far off for most of its gamers, Bethesda released the HD remastered version of “The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim” on October 28.

Owners of the game on PC got an upgrade for free while gamers on the Xbox One, the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 4, and the PlayStation 4 need to shell out $60 to avail of it.

Previous reports were also saying that once the special edition of the fifth installment of “The Elder Scrolls” franchise is released, Bethesda shall also kickstart the development of “The Elder Scrolls 6.”

However, Pete Hines announced during the Gamescom 2016 held in August in Cologne, Germany that the company is working on two big projects, with “The Elder Scrolls 6” being the third.
