This month marks the first year of the Apple iPad Pro in the global retail markets so it is only natural that reports about the arrival of its impending successor, the iPad Pro 2, swirl around.
For some reason, the speculations about the possible release of the iPad Pro 2 also comes with rumors about the Apple iPad Air 3, which seems to have vanished online after the release of the iPad Pro 9.7in in March this year.
Tech enthusiasts believed that the iPad Pro 9.7in is, in fact, the renamed Apple iPad Air 3 so when the former device was launched by the American tech giant and made it into the retail markets in March this year, the rumors about the iPad Air 3 died down.
The Apple iPad Air 2 officially came out of the market in October 2014 so it has already been more than two years without a refresh. That could have been the reason why the rumors on the Apple iPad Air 3 were suddenly resurrected.
However, since Apple has yet to make a statement to confirm or deny the rumors about the iPad Air 3, everything about the device remains speculation at this point in time.
The end of the line?
With the release of the iPad Pro in November last year and the iPad Pro 9.7in in March this year, there were reports saying that Apple has already ended its popular iPad Air line.
According to speculations, because of the success of the new iPad Pro lines, both the big and small one, Apple has decided to do away with the iPad Air tablet line and that it may no longer release an iPad Air 3, details Game & Guide.
However, the rumors about the Apple iPad Air 3 might have died down but it continued silently to stay rife and now it started heating up again.
In fact, the latest rumors are also saying that Apple could unveil both the iPad Pro 2 and the iPad Air 3 at the same time sometime soon and keep both tablet series alive.
Based on the speculations, the Apple iPad Air 3 will come out sometime next year powered by Apple’s A9X processor with 4GB of RAM and will include an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing snapper, details the International Business Times of Australia.
Superb features and capabilities
Based on previous speculations, the iPad Air 3 will come out with superb features and capabilities. It shall come out equipped with a 4K resolution panel, based on the revelation of sources in the Taiwan supply chain.
Although the typical 4K resolutions do not quite fit the signature 4:3 aspect ratio of the iPad Air line, Apple has the capability to pack enough pixels into the display to make it comparable in terms of overall pixel count to what is commonly known as a 4K display.
Another interesting rumor about the iPad Air 3 is that it would have a generous 4GB of RAM, which suggests that it may include different levels of main memory in different models, potentially based on storage tier.
The reports are also consistent about the processor of the Apple iPad Air 3, which will be the A9X chipset, the same processor found on the iPad Pro.
Just by imagining these basic features alone, users are already saying that the iPad Air 3 is really worth the wait, particularly those who did not jump on the bandwagon of the iPad Pro and ditch their 9.7-inch tablet in favor of a bigger and more professional-looking one.
