Michael Schumacher Fans Told to Share Memories and Celebrate the F1 Racer’s Multiple Accomplishments

Instead of looking at the negative of side of things especially in light of recent reports that seven-time Formula One champion Michael Schumacher is still struggling with his recovery from the tragic skiing accident he succumbed into almost three years ago, the racer’s official Facebook page encouraged his fans to share memories and celebrate his multiple accomplishments that made him the legend that he is.

The message was posted on October 26, two weeks from the anniversary of Michael Schumacher’s first ever world championship which he won on November 13, 1994, reports the Parent Herald.

The German car racer won again in 1995 to achieve back-to-back title victories with the Benetton Team. Schumacher completed his record seven world championships with the Scuderia Ferrari Team, winning five consecutive times from 2000-2004.

In addition to seven F1 World Championship titles, Schumacher also holds a number of records including the most fastest laps, most race wins, and most pole positions. In 2004, he had the most races won in a single season.

The Facebook page has a welcome note to everyone to what it calls as Michael’s paddock. It explained that from November 13, the page will be the fans’ meeting place to collect and exchange memories and to celebrate Michael’s many achievements.

It also added that the site was established as a thank you gesture to all the wonderful fans of Schumacher, details Game & Guide.

A slow and painful recovery

The Schumacher family has remained mum on his true health condition but based on the court case that they filed against German magazine Bunte, the former F1 champion still cannot sit and raise his arms.

Bunte previously reported that Schumacher can already sit and raise his arms and the family, through their lawyer, Felix Damm, described the news as irresponsible reporting because it raises false hopes and expectations among the fans and the public in general.

What seems clear from the suit is that Michael Schumacher still cannot walk and is most likely experiencing slow and painful recovery, not only for himself but for his family.

But accordingly, the family and friends of Michael Schumacher have not given up on him and continues to pray for his recovery.

The importance of privacy

The suit filed by the family lawyer against Bunte magazine may have probably stemmed from the continued request of the family for privacy ever since Schumi had that tragic skiing accident in the French Alps in December 2013.

Come December this year, it would already mark three years from the time that Michael Schumacher had that fatal accident and the development of his health condition has been painfully slow.

Schumacher spent six months in a coma after hitting his head on a rock and has been cared for since at his house in Lake Geneva in Switzerland.

Family lawyer Felix Damm told the court that the racer cannot walk and is unable to stand even with the assistance of therapists.

The original report published by Bunte last December featured a picture of Schumacher on the cover with the headline “He can walk again!”

Michael Schumacher’s manager and good friend Sabine Kehm brands the report as irresponsible. She explained that it is just unfortunate that the public is made to believe the press report saying that Michael could move again, which she says is not true.

She pointed out that such speculation is irresponsible because, given the seriousness of Michael’s injuries, his privacy is very important for the F1 racer. Kehm also added that it gives false hopes to many involved people.

The intention was obviously good as it wanted to raise the hopes of the millions of fans of Schumacher that their idol could be well again. Bunte also said that the racer is very thin and could already raise his arm. His weight might be quite expected but his being able to walk and raise his arm are far from the truth apparently.
