A few months ago, the messy divorce of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard were all over the news and the internet.
But with the high-profile divorce of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie last September, it seems that the spotlight has been taken away already from the “Pirates of the Caribbean 5” actor and the “Magic Mike XXL” actress.
Apparently, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard had reached a divorce settlement in August. Prior to the settlement, there were rumors saying that Amber Heard was just after Johnny Depp’s money as she claimed for US$7 million spousal support from her former husband. Depp made the settlement.
But to show proof that Amber Heard never had the intention of getting any of Johnny Depp’s money, she actually decided to give the alimony that was awarded to her in the settlement to charity. She promptly gave away the money to American Civil Liberties Union and the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, reports Movie News Guide.
Seeing different people already
What seems to be making it easier for the former married couple to move past their failed relationship are reports stating that both Johnny and Amber are now seeing different people at this time.
The 53-year-old actor has reportedly reunited with his long-time girlfriend Vanessa Paradis, who is also the mother of her two children, Lily Rose and Jack.
On the part of the 30-year-old “Justice League” actress, there are initial rumors linking her to business magnate Elon Musk of Tesla Motors but it appears that she is into another man.
There were also speculations saying that the actress is broke and homeless after the divorce with Depp and was slowly rebuilding her life. She has also been linked with alleged old flames like model Cara Delevingne but that also proved inaccurate.
Amber Heard was recently sighted having a lunch date in Los Angeles with musician Brandon McCulloch. Some sources claim that McCulloch has almost the same personality with Depp and both are musicians as well, reports Headlines & Global News.
Reports also have it that McCulloch has been sharing with his friends what could be a growing relationship he has with Heard and that his friends were reportedly worried that the actress may just be using him for a rebound relationship or to rile his ex-husband up.
However, the musician had reportedly posted on his official Twitter account that he is just friends with the actress, saying that he has been friends with Amber for more than 12 years and that that they have had many lunches before and will likely to have more.
Found solace with a former lover
Johnny Depp, on the other hand, has reportedly found solace from his ex-partner Vanessa Paradis, whom he dated from 1998 to 2012.
Apparently, the 43-year old French singer-songwriter has been comforting Depp and enabled him to recover from the messy divorce he had with Heard.
Amber Heard and Johnny Depp split after a little over a year of marriage. The divorce proceedings were marred by allegations of domestic violence.
Amber Heard filed for divorce in a US court on May 23 citing irreconcilable difference as the reason for the filing.
The actress made the filing on a Los Angeles Superior Court some 15 months after their marriage early in February last year.
Just months after their marriage last year, pundits and critics were already betting that their union would not last a year given the partying habits of Amber Heard while Johnny Depp was in Australia last year filming “Pirates of the Caribbean 5.”
As if to prove the rumors were wrong and the bets on their marriage would fall flat on their faces, Amber Heard even flew to Australia in April onboard Johnny Depp’s private plane and brought with her their two Yorkshire pet dogs.
