‘Blue Bloods’ Season 7 Episode 6 Intriguing Case Puts the Spotlight on Frank Reagan After Whistleblower Accuses Him of Abuse of Authority

The sixth episode of Season 7 of the American police procedural drama TV series “Blue Bloods” aired on CBS on October 28 and it showed an intriguing case that placed the spotlight on NYPD Commissioner Frank Reagan, played by Tom Selleck.

Apparently, a whistleblower came out and claimed that the Commissioner had abused his authority.

Since he is the Commissioner and is accountable for everything that happens in the police organization, Frank worked on uncovering who the whistleblower was on his own turf and determined his motive for making false accusations, details Game & Guide.

The episode also saw Danny Reagan, played by Donnie Wahlberg, suspecting that the car accident he was investigating was a deliberate act. It was not a hit-and-run case but actually murder.

Danny saw a woman being hit hard by a car while crossing the street. He ordered someone to call 911 as he rushes to the woman, only to discover that she is already dead.

In the course of the investigation on the case of the “Blue Bloods” episode, Danny learns that the woman took party drugs before her accident. Danny also learns from talking to a forensic expert that it is amazing that she could still walk and talk given her condition. The coroner seems to be suggesting that the victim may have been forcibly drugged.

Leaving the show?

There have been rumors saying that “Blue Bloods” may face the ax after Season 7 despite its consistent performance in the ratings over the past six seasons and more.

Apparently, the reason for such speculations was the report that Tom Selleck is reportedly leaving the show, which means that Season 7 might be the last for “Blue Bloods.”

There are also rumors saying that the decision of the veteran actor has something to do with his talent fee which has swollen so high that the big production budget is no longer economical because profitability is suffering already.

“Blue Bloods” has fairly consistent good ratings throughout its run on air. Its Season 7 episodes received a 1.1 rating in the 18-49 demographics or a total of 9.86 million viewers in the latest episode, details the Parent Herald.

This means that the show continues to keep the audience engaged with every plot even though it has been on the air for seven years.

A shot at romance

There are reports saying that there is a good chance that Jamie Reagan, played by Will Ester, will finally have his fair share of romance in “Blue Bloods” Season 7.

There seems to be a lot of stories that the show can play out once Jamie and Eddie enter into a romantic relationship. However, there are some fans who do not wish to see “Blue Bloods” Season 7 turn into a romantic show. Others also believed that Jamie is better off being paired with someone else such as a new love interest.

Season 7 of “Blue Bloods” premiered on CBS on September 23 which picked up from the Season 6 finale with a slam-bang episode entitled “The Greater Good.”

The Season 7 premiere episode showed Attorney General office lawyer Robert Lewis, played by Michael Imperioli, obtaining new evidence against Danny Reagan in the murder case of serial killer Thomas Wilder, played by Louis Cancelmi, back in Season 6.

Danny has previously thought that the case was already closed after he took justice into his own hands and murdered the serial killer.

However, new evidence surfaced which might have changed the previous court ruling so the case was reopened.

It can be recalled that Danny’s decision to kill Wilder was because he wanted revenge. During their encounter, Wilder bluffed Danny that he had a gun, forcing Danny to shoot him.
