In Married at First Sight Season 4’s Tuesday episode, the remaining couples, comprising of Nick Pendergrast and Sonia Granados, along with Tom Wilson and Lillian Vilchez, were supposed to decide if they wish to stay together after the completion of their six-week long social experiment.
Nick, Sonia, Tom and Lillian had to face the Experts in MAFS in Episode 14, after coming back from their second honeymoon. The episode was titled, ‘Till Death Do Us Part’ and they had to decide whether they want to stay married or finally give it up for a divorce.
The episode of last week was named Forsaking Others and fans witnessed how Lillian and Tom started to worry if they are indeed, the perfect match for each other.
Out of all three couples, it seemed like, Tom and Lillian had the greatest chance of staying together, compared to anyone else. It was predicted by many fans that they would emerge victorious out of this social experiment.
They were also the first ones to consummate their marriage, telling us that they were highly attached to each other. However, it seems like physical attraction is not enough to save their marriage.
In the past few weeks, Tom has been complaining about how Lillian has always been giving her career more priority compared to their marriage. If their marriage should work, Tom’s mom, Marlena, explained that Lillian needs to keep her career away for the time being.
She told Lillian that the worst thing that someone can do to Tommy is ignored him. Tommy needs someone who can take care of him. As a result, Lillian needs to keep everything away.
In the last episode of Married at First Sight Season 4, Tom expressed some similar sentiments. He clearly expressed that he felt Lillian was not devoting all she could be in the relationship. He mentioned that there are times when he feels that Lillian doesn’t pay him a lot of attention. He asks why he should make an effort.
He also said that there are times when he just wants to take the phone and chuck it away in the river. Earlier in Season 4, Lillian and Tom were encouraged by Dr. Pepper Schwartz to enjoy a trip and spend some nice time with each other, while keeping all electronics away.
At first, Tom suggested that he wants to drive the Tour Bus to the Florida Keys and although Lily was concerned at first, she wanted to show Tom that she can compromise to make things work in a marriage.
However, the 25-year old realtor told the camera that they could never live on a bus if they decide to stick together for the long haul and raise a family of their own.
She admitted knowing how much Tom loves the bus. She knows that he loves living in it, but according to her, she had dreams that when she gets married, she wants a house, family, kids and it’s not possible on a bus.
Meanwhile, season 4 finale of Married at First Sight, had its flavour of drama, suspense, and tension. The camp enjoyed a lot of cheer, thanks to two newlyweds who believed in ‘till death do us part.’
The three couples met at the altar six weeks back and were complete strangers in Episode 1. After tying the knot for two weeks, Derek and Heather’s marriage ended. Sonia and Nick were suffering from communication and intimacy issues, and Tom/Lillian was not on the same page regarding children.
