Android Devices to Receive The 7.1 Update, Release Date and The List of Companies and Their Devices, Which Will Be Getting Them, More Details

At the end of August, Google had started to roll out the Android 7.0 Nougat to the Nexus devices. Previously, it was assumed that Google would pre-install its Android 7.0 Nougat, in its Pixel devices. However, in light of recent events, it is clear that that is not going to be the case.

Google is going to ship its Android 7.1 Nougat directly into the devices. So, the Pixel and Pixel XL it appears are going to come packed with Nougat 7.1, directly out of the box. This new update brings in quite a few original features.

Given that, the tech giant had started rolling out Android Nougat 7.1 Developer Preview into the Nexus Devices recently.

After the Android N developer preview, users were able to use one genuinely helpful feature to use Google’s Multi-Window feature. To use it, one had to simply swipe up from the ‘Overview’ on-screen button to start the Multi-Window mode. This feature is available on the Pixel and the Pixel XL by Google as well, which are running on 7.1 Nougat.

A new update stated that itlooks like only the toggle exists on Android 7.1 Nougat on the Google Pixel and Pixel XL, yet the feature is not functioning. This is stirring up questions as to what is in Google’s mind.

Even though Google has declared the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Android smartphones, it remains silent about their release dates. On the list for updates that have been announced yet awaiting a release date are the Android 7.0 Nougat update and the Android 7.1 Nougat OTA update.

Smartphone makers like the Nexus, Motorola, and Lenovo, are formulating their smartphones to take up the Android 7.0 Nougat update, and the release dates of each are given below.

For the Nexus smartphones, the Android 7.1 Nougat OTA update will be available by December. Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X are the first smartphones of the Nexus banner to receive the OTA update. It is also anticipated that the Nexus 6, Nexus 9 and Nexus Player will get the Android 7.1 Nougat update.

In the 7.1 Nougat OTA update in the Nexus smartphones, are included the Daydream VR support alongside, A/B system updates. Also in the list is image keyboard support and the Nexus smartphones will not get the Google Assistant and Pixel launcher features as it is being seen on the Pixel.

According to a report by Indian Express, Moto G4, nd Moto G4 Plus are the initial two smartphones to obtain the Android 7.0 Nougat update. The 15 other Motorola devices to receive the update are the third edition of Moto X Pure Edition. Apart from the Moto X Force, the Moto X Play and the Moto X Style.

The final five models left on the list, of also getting the updatesare the Droid Maxx 2, the Droid Turbo 2, the Moto Z, the Moto Z Play, the Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Play Droid.

Unfortunately, Moto E3 Power and Moto G3 smartphones will not get the Android 7.0 Nougat update as suggested in the current reports.

Android 7.1 Update

Lenovo’s flagship devices to be reportedly going to come equipped with Google’s new Android 7.0 Nougat update are the Lenovo K3 Note, the Lenovo K4 Note, the Lenovo K5 Note and finally the Lenovo Vibe P1. There is even a petition for a 7.1 update on Lenovo devices, according to Neurogadget.

According to the rumour-mill these are the handsets for which Lenovo might enable the Android 7.0 Nougat update. However, the parent company of Motorola, which is Lenovo; has not revealed the timeline as to when its smartphones will receive the Android 7.0 nougat update.
