Usually, an update to iOS sends the Jailbreaking Community to their drawing boards. At the same time, the members proceed with their zealous mission to retain the openness and accessibility of their device. However, this does not seem to be the case with the latest update to iOS 8. In this new move by Apple, jailbreakers are pleased to indicate that it does not close any loophole, no possible code exploits or any other noted vulnerability.
However, it does ensure that Apple keeps earning money on its ringtones. The small update released by Apple focuses on the ability of restoring ringtones that have been purchased from the iTunes Store. There is a huge list of bugs and issues that continue to be found around the latest Apple Operating System. Of all those bugs, this is quite a weird one to currently pay attention to.
Gordon Kelly of Forbes recently commented on the latest update by Apple. According to him, the iOS 8.1.2 is not a major fix that iPhone users hoped for. The iOS 8.1.1 update fixed many issues back in November, yet many users still suffered from crippled Wi-Fi issues, Bluetooth problem with connection to headsets and major battery drain, among others. According to him, Apple’s weird decision to suddenly address the Ringtone bug will surely anger a lot of users at the moment.
The iOS 8.1.2 can be jailbroken while making use of the same iOS 8.1.1 exploits. The untethered approach devised by the TaiG Team continues to valid up to this update. The usual norm with Jailbreaking has been to close down the exploits harnessed by the next update. The methods for Jailbreaking come and go as updates keep releasing for the Apple Operating System.
The latest build for the Apple iOS has not yet been released to developers for the purposes of advanced testing. Instead, it appears directly on Apple’s servers for an OTA Update. The developers presently have the iOS 8.2 seeded with them which includes the supporting pillars for the Apple Watch issue. Nothing has been declared regarding the 8.2 update; however, people should be right to expect a mid-to-late February release.
Similar to the unavailability of the release date, no information was provided regarding any bugs/issues to be addressed with this update. The aforementioned problems will be the major ones that need fixing along with any other bugs that affect the day-to-day functioning of your Apple devices.
The update issues regarding the OS has primarily affected users with a low storage device variants. As a result, users are currently baffled with the sudden concern for a trivial ringtone bug fix.
Stay tuned for more updates on Apple issues / bugs and Jailbreaking!
