Jurassic World 2 Looking to Cast a Young Girl Named Lucy Who Shall Have a Significant Role in the Film, More Details!

“Jurassic World 2” now has a confirmed release date of June 22, 2018 and a filming schedule from February to June next year.

There were previous reports saying that the filming of the movie shall be held in Hawaii, just like the first film or the “Jurassic Park” film before it but the location is in the UK.

But what made the headlines recently is when the movie did a casting call for a character named Lucy in “Jurassic World 2.”

The casting breakdown for the child role was posted on the movie’s casting website and it called for a young girl of nine years of age. She must be at least nine years of age by February 2017 but cannot be over 10 years old.

The casting call went on to say that the child must be sensitive and a clever actress capable of handling long and complex scenes. The website added that Lucy must be able to handle a range of emotions from tender moments with her father, to anxiety, bravery, and shock.

The site also said that the role represents a huge and exciting opportunity for a young actress to play a significant role in a major Hollywood blockbuster, reports Scified.

It is still not clear how this Lucy character will figure into the lives of returning characters Claire Dearing, to be played by Bryce Dallas Howard, and Owen Grady, to be played by Chris Pratt.

Taking the reins from Trevorrow

Juan Antonio or JA Bayona will take the reins from Colin Trevorrow to direct the sequel to the fourth most successful film of all time in the box-office.

JA Bayona is the director of the movies “A Monster Calls” and “The Impossible.” Although Colin Trevorrow has moved on to work on “Star Wars Episode 9,” he is still helping out in different ways.

In a recent interview, Trevorrow said that he has been working closely with JA in listening to instincts, and honing the script with Derek Connolly for “Jurassic World 2” to make sure that it would be something that all of them believe in, notes Popsugar.

Trevorrow said that he thinks that the general audience is going to be down to explore where else the movie can go. So it is possible that it may go the route of “Jurassic Park: The Lost World” where a T-Rex got on the loose in San Diego, California.

He said that one thing that they can assure fans is that “Jurassic World 2” is going to be more suspenseful and scary because that is the way it was designed and how the story plays out.

Twice the budget of the first film?

Meanwhile, Director JA Bayona has said in a recent interview with a Spanish magazine that the budget of the film is set at $260 million, which would make it nearly twice as much as the budget of “Jurassic World” shown in June of last year.

The director said in the interview that the sequel to “Jurassic World” does not have an official title thus far but the budget is already set. He said that the sequel would be a massive increase from the first movie but he did not specify any reason for the large increase in the film’s budget.

Assuming that its $260 million budget is indeed on cue, “Jurassic World 2” would land on the list of the top six most expensive films of all time.

The list includes “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” with its humungous $378.5 million, followed by “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End,” “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” and tied for fifth place are “John Carter” and “Tangled.”

However, in an interview with a spokesperson for Universal Pictures, which is producing the movie, he said that the budget for “Jurassic World 2” has not been set.
