Fans of “NCIS Los Angeles” have already gone through quite a lot over the show’s seasons, and it looks like the producers definitely aren’t holding back on the dramatic developments. Many were hoping that things would turn out okay for Kensi in the end, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Recent rumors indicate that fans should actually prepare to never see her on the show again, as the producers are apparently preparing to write her character out.
The good news is that there might at least be a replacement lined up, as Nell could get a more central place in the story in her absence. We’ve already seen Nell showing some impressive skills in her work, so there’s no doubt that she could be a good replacement for Kensi – but at the same time, this obviously isn’t going to resolve the main issue in fans’ eyes, the absence of Kensi herself.
According to the current rumors, the writers aren’t going to explicitly kill her off, but will rather just keep her in a coma forever. This implies that the decision to remove her character might not be completely final, as it would give them an opportunity to bring her back into the story later on.
However, some fans see this as a very cheesy move, and it would actually be damaging to the show’s reputation in the long run. It would be hard to believe that someone can recover after being in a coma for so long, and even though many TV shows and films love to use comas as a dramatic plot device, there is a reasonable limit to everything.
Which is why most fans seem to agree that if we don’t see Kensi back on the screen in the next few episodes, it’s probably safe to assume that her character is gone for good. On the other hand, if Nell shows a more active presence in the team’s cases, this would be another indicator that the rumors are true and the producers really are moving in this direction.
It’s also worth pointing out that we’ve seen some worrying claims made by LL Cool J, who has an active role on the show. The star was a bit cryptic in his claims, but the main implication seemed to be that one of the major characters could be killed off soon, so this further solidified the idea that Kensi is going to die in the eyes of most fans.
It’s possible that this could all be a ruse though, and that by the end of the season we’re going to see Kensi fully recovered, while someone else turns out to be the character with a death lined up. That would indeed be a surprising move by the producers of the show, and it wouldn’t be the first time they’ve misled their fans like that, so many fans seem to be on edge right now.
And while most of the focus right now is on Kensi and her struggle for survival, other interesting developments have been happening on the show as well which definitely shouldn’t be missed out on. Anna Kolcheck is coming back, and we might see her in some interesting scenes, according to current previews. There might even be something romantic lined up for her in the next episodes, so the dynamics between some characters could change a lot soon.
