Spin-offs of TV shows tend to be a very risky business, and we’ve seen plenty of seemingly promising productions of this kind fail spectacularly. However, “Better Call Saul” was immediately met with widespread positivity among fans of the original “Breaking Bad”, and once the show hit the screen, it was clear that this was a great idea right from the start.
Now that “Better Call Saul” has been around for a while, fans have started to wonder what the producers are planning for the longer-term development of the show, and what kinds of surprises we could expect from season 3.
It looks like the link to “Breaking Bad” is going to become even stronger with this season, as rumors talk about a possible major crossover between the two shows. More specifically, Jesse Pinkman and Walter White themselves are rumored to be making an appearance in the third season.
We don’t know exactly how the characters are going to be portrayed in the show, and whether they’ll have any major roles or if their appearance will be more of a cameo. That’s likely one of the goals that the producers were pursuing, and some fans are currently claiming that it would make perfect sense to produce even more spin-offs from the original.
But that might be a bit of overkill at this point, according to others. As great as “Breaking Bad” was, the show’s potential for extra stories isn’t infinite, and it might be a better idea for the producers to just put it to rest at this point and move on to other things. At the same time, the people behind “Better Call Saul” should offer their full support to the show.
Currently, the implication is that Jesse will have a more important role than Walter if the two characters do end up on the show. And according to some additional previews we’ve seen from people involved in the show, it’s starting to seem more and more likely that the two are headed to “Better Call Saul” indeed.
