‘FIFA 17’ First Patch Brings Substantial Improvements on the Gameplay and Took Many of the Suggestions from the Game’s Community

Less than three weeks after the soccer simulation video game “FIFA 17” was released on the gaming consoles and the PC, game publisher EA Sports has released the first patch for the game.

Surprisingly, it came out as a very significant and substantial update for a game that was just released on September 27 in North America and on September 29 to the rest of the world.

Critics believe that the changes are meant to offset the advantages of the “Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) 2017” soccer simulation video game on “FIFA 17” stemming from the head-to-head comparisons done recently.

It is likely that there will be two or three more updates on “FIFA 17” within the year from its release but it was obvious that the first patch took many of the suggestions from the game’s community. More importantly, the biggest changes brought about by the first update came in terms of gameplay, details iDigital Times.

The patch also addressed some bugs and minor technical glitches that players noticed as they played “FIFA 17.”

It has been noted that the update has improved the passing responsiveness when the ball is in the air. Before the update, the accuracy of passes was dicey at times and it wreaked havoc with an attack as the player moves towards the other half of the field.

The patch also improves positioning issues for goaltenders and also harnesses logic for contested headers on corner kick situations.

Likewise, the update also improved the visual and presentation aspect of “FIFA 17.” There is also the introduction of the English Premiere League’s broadcast package in the game that added more realism to an already very realistic soccer game.

The first to use the Frostbite engine

“FIFA 17” is historic for both game developer EA Canada and game publisher EA Sports because it is the first game in the “FIFA” series to use the Frostbite game engine.

The game has for its cover Marco Reus, which was a result of a public voting.

The first gameplay demo of “FIFA 17” was shown on September 13 and it was released on the Play First Trial some nine days later. The game received positive reviews upon its release, particularly with its almost realistic gameplay.

In addition to the gameplay, “FIFA 17” was also cited for its Frostbite engine, sound, and presentation. In fact, the game turned out to be the fastest selling video game edition of the franchise.

According to the Mirror of UK, “FIFA 17” is already breaking record sales figures and yet the game is not yet even a month old since it officially came out on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and the PC.

Most popular edition thus far

Judging from the reception of gamers and the impressive sales figures of “FIFA 17,” the latest football installment of the game looks set to become the most popular edition yet. It is also proving to be a hit among the serious gamers too.

This became evident with the release a few days ago of “FIFA 17’s” first ever ‘Goals of the Week’ compilation where the goals are so good, it will actually make gamers re-evaluate their own “FIFA” ability.

The majority of efforts involve a ridiculous piece of skill followed by a long-range strike. But set VTECSHG’s effort aside. This particular gamer has taken The Journey’s Alex Hunter to the next level with a scorpion volley, which many critics are saying as simply outrageous.

Another peach is Reus’s devilishly brilliant free-kick. Scored by gamer SWITCHFLIPZ FC, the Borussia Dortmund winger batters the ball in off the bar from 32 yards.

Meanwhile, some three months before the official release of the game, EA Sports has already announced during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 held in Los Angeles, California that “FIFA 17” shall have all 20 Premier League managers’ likeness in the game.
