The adult entertainment site Pornhub has recently released a statistical insight among its users worldwide and it showed that gay searches on the website are actually higher in the United Kingdom compared to that in the United States.
The site has a Pornhub Gay section and according to the insight, the most viewed categories in the United Kingdom are “Straight Guys,” “Black,” and “Daddy” in that order of preference. Interestingly, in the US, it is the category “Black” that is the most viewed.
There is also a “Fetish” category on the Pornhub Gay section, which is actually 48% more popular among gay viewers in the UK. Likewise, gay twink videos are also 45% more popular in the British country.
But there is something in common between the UK and the US and that is with regards to having ‘straight first time’ as the No. 1 most popular gay search on Pornhub Gay featuring videos of straight guys.
The top relative searches also showed that regional slang like ‘british chav’ is nearly 1,200% more popular in the UK, along with ‘chav,’ ‘British lads,’ ‘english lads,’ and ‘wanking.’
The Oxford English Dictionary defines chav as an informal British derogatory, meaning a young lower-class person who displays brash and loutish behavior and wears real or imitation designer clothes.
A momentary shift in viewership
There was a surprising move of users of Pornhub recently to momentarily abandon watching or streaming porn on the site to watch the US presidential debate between Democrats bet Hillary Clinton and the Republican nominee Donald J. Trump.
According to Pornhub, traffic at the internet’s leading adult site dropped by as much as 16% as Clinton and Trump squared off for their first face-to-face free-for-all debate.
The website’s traffic fell by 16% as of 9 pm of September 26 or about the time when the televised presidential debate kicked off on national and global television held at Hofstra University.
But as the debate was drawing to a close, traffic to Pornhub has resumed to normal, indicating that a good number of Americans abandoned watching porn just to see what the next president of their country has to say on various national issues.
The adult site also saw traffic from New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and the District of Columbia to drop the most, with a significant 21% drop for each location.
On the other, hand Pornhub traffic from Mississippi, Alaska, and Hawaii, changed the least with just a 4% decline.
But the US presidential debate between Clinton and Trump was the most-watched in the history of the country, drawing an estimated 84 million viewers in the US alone.
Pornhub analysts cannot believe what happened but it did say that some American voters were so invested in the election that they apparently skipped out on a personal activity to get engage in the political process. The analysts said that they just left Pornhub.com to watch the US presidential debate.
The adult site showed some very enlightening information about its visits during debate night. Traffic to the site dropped sharply as the debate started and then returned to normal right afterward.
Across the United States, visits to Pornhub fell as much as 16 percent compared to an average Monday at such time period. Traffic was down slightly below average in the hours leading up to the debate and then drop sharply at 9 pm. By the end of the debate traffic had recovered fully to match normal Monday night levels, the site explained.
