Things on the official front of “Shameless” have been running smoothly, and the recently released premiere of season 7 was received mostly warmly by fans and critics. We’re still seeing some interesting discussions about the events of the episode, and fans seem to enjoy uncovering “hidden” bits about it. At the same time, things haven’t been that pretty with some of the recent rumors about the show.
There are claims that one of the characters is about to be killed off – more specifically, Ian Gallagher might be on his way out as actor Cameron Monaghan has been considering taking a break from TV acting. If it’s true that the character is about to get taken out of the show, it’s still not certain if that’s the actual reason for the decision, or if there’s something else going on behind the scenes.
In any case, the showrunners have been releasing official previews for the next episodes, and it seems like Ian is going to stick around, at least for now. He’s been mentioned in some plot lines that are coming up, so it looks like they are planning to keep him on the show at least for the time being.
Of course the producers aren’t revealing their plans too far ahead into the future, so it’s possible that they still have Ian’s death on the table. And on the other hand, if that’s the case, they obviously wouldn’t reveal that this was coming up, as it would cause a major disturbance in their community.
What is Ian going to be up to in the next episodes, anyway? It looks like the character is going to explore some more unusual aspects of his personality, according to the official previews. Whether this has anything to do with his alleged upcoming death or not is impossible to tell from the hints about the new episodes, but we wouldn’t be surprised if the writers really were setting up such a development.
Meanwhile, Frank has been up to some mischief himself, as he’s getting ready to disown most of his family. The situation is evolving in a pretty funny way, according to some fans, with Frank bunkered down together with Liam in their house. It’ll be interesting to see how this story plays out, but hopefully it’s not leading up to any negative developments further down the road.
The show as a whole has been in a bit of a messy state lately, but most fans seem hopeful for the future. A lot has happened over those six seasons, and we’ve seen some very harsh developments at some points. It looks like the producers are planning some even harsher things for this season too, especially if some of the rumors turn out to be true.

Some fans have actually been complaining that the show was moving a bit too slow towards the end of season 6, and it looks like the producers are trying to fix that, at least judging by the first episode of this season so far. It remains to be seen if the pace will be kept until the end of the season or not, but if the showrunners are actually listening to their fans, they should definitely keep things moving faster.
