There’s been a lot of discussion about “The Get Down” recently, as many fans of the show were convinced that it was going to get cancelled. It all started with some questionable rumors which quickly spread all over the Web, and the situation got pretty bad for those who were hoping to get another season of the hip-hop show.
The alleged reason for the show’s cancellation was even more bizarre, as it was claimed that Jaden Smith, one of the main cast members, had committed suicide. It took a while for confirmation to come out that Smith was alive and well, and in the end it looks like everything is going back to normal.
What’s going on behind the scenes of “The Get Down” though, and why was there so much commotion around the show lately, when it could have all been prevented with a simple statement by the showrunners?
According to reports from behind the scenes, things are actually quite busy for everyone involved in “The Get Down”, and the show’s second season has been coming along very well. Filming has been running at an increased pace in order to release the season in reasonable time, and it seems like fans shouldn’t expect any delays or other major issues with the release of the second season.
We even got a sneak peek from behind the scenes, showing some of the cast members sharing a moment together. It looks like everyone is having a lot of fun with their work, at least from the small glimpse we got, so this is a good sign for what we should expect from season 2.
The next season of “The Get Down” won’t pick up exactly where the first one left off, according to previews, as there will be a jump in time to a different period. The show is likely going to explore some prominent periods in the development of music, and now fans are going to get a closer look at the 80s.
Nobody is likely to leave the cast for now, although there have been some rumors of possible rearrangements among the characters. What exactly those “rearrangements” could entail remains to be seen. On the other hand, we’ve been getting reports that the show is going to get some new cast members for season 2, making it a much more lively and deeper production.
It sounds like this is actually one of the main goals of the showrunners for the new season as well, as they’re trying to make the second season of “The Get Down” an even more memorable experience than the first.
We expect to see some new relationships built between the various characters, while older ones are made deeper and more involved. At the same time, we wouldn’t be surprised if the producers decided to throw some drama in the mix as well, causing a rift between some of the season 1 characters. There is so much potential for all kinds of such stories in the current state of the show, and we definitely expect the producers to utilize a lot of it.
It’s probably too early to talk about an air date, considering we haven’t even seen the second part of season 1 yet, but some fans have been trying to get information about the producers’ plans for next year. If season 1’s second half is scheduled for the earlier parts of 2017, then we expect to see season 2 by the end of the year.
