‘World of Warcraft: Legion’ Enables the Game to Find its Footing Again and Assert its Relevance, Say Critics!

Game developer Blizzard Entertainment released late in August the latest expansion to the massive multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) “World of Warcraft” entitled “Legion” and based on the reviews of several critics and enthusiasts, it has enabled the game to find its footing again and assert its relevance, reports Gamespot.

The same critics are saying that “World of Warcraft: Legion” has many elements to make the game more enjoyable and that includes class halls, gigantic zones filled with memorable stories, better socialization, the new Demon Hunter class, and world quests.

“World of Warcraft: Legion” also connects players to its world which is so unlike the game’s previous expansions, making it the best “World of Warcraft” expansion since the “Wrath of the Lich King.”

The expansion pack has really made the narrative and questing in the “World of Warcraft” so strong that gamers begin to wonder as to when Blizzard Entertainment can come up again with such a great addition to the game.

In addition to the widely-talked about Demon Hunter class which starts at level 98, “World of Warcraft: Legion” also introduced artifact weapons that become more powerful as the player does, the Broken Isles content, and a revamped PVP progression system.

When the latest expansion to “World of Warcraft” came out to the PC on August 30, it was retailed by Blizzard Entertainment at $40, which was well worth it for most gamers considering the huge content that it brought and truly made the MMORPG great once more.

An upcoming patch for ‘Legion’

A little over a month after “World of Warcraft: Legion” came out, Blizzard Entertainment is looking to release the latest patch to the game officially called as Patch 7.1.

The Patch 7.1 shall feature the comeback of the nine bosses that were featured in the original TBC Karazhan raid. Players should, therefore, expect to face off again the likes of Attumen the Huntsman, Shade of Medivh, The Curator, Moroes, Maiden of Virtue, and others, details WCCF Tech.

The new Karazhan will be accessible through a newly created side-entrance in Deadwind Pass. Unlike the TBC raid, “Return to Karazhan” will only be available on Mythic difficulty. Both TBC Karazhan and Legion Karazhan will be accessible at the same time.

Familiar parts from the original Karazhan will also return with a twist – the dancers in the banquet hall float in the air, the Mana Devourer trash would be a difficult boss since he has been shrunk down to size, the chess event is topsy-turvy, and some parts of Karazhan are even upside-down.

As players move through the dungeon, they will also see small cutscenes from Medivh’s past, including the final interaction with his father. Some of the quest items in the dungeon will point to pass Opera encounters, such as Negative Review, Little Red Cape, Positive Review, and Bouquet of Roses.

Sustaining gamer interest and excitement

Over the last 12 years since the “World of Warcraft” has been released, the MMORPG has had six expansion packs to keep players questing.

These are “World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade,” “World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King,” “World of Warcraft: Cataclysm,” “ World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria,” “World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor,” and “World of Warcraft: Legion.”

The success of the game can very well be attested by the more than 100 million gamer accounts created during the last 12 years, which means that “World of Warcraft” has been keeping players really invested in the game and continues to make a quest harder than beating the Lich King himself.

While the game is a subscription-based model, “World of Warcraft” still generated over $10 billion as of 2012, which only indicate that its players are very loyal and continue to wait for the game’s next expansion pack.
