Vampire Diaries has been one of those supernatural drama television series that has been attracting audiences’ attention from the very first day of its release, right from the very first season.
Over the years, the successive seasons have gained popularity and the storyline and the cast have been wide appraised. The latest season of the series, Vampire diaries season 8 is set to be released and the fans are over the moon with excitement.
Nina Dobrev who has been portraying the protagonist till the season 6 of the show after which she was shown to have been cursed by a witch thereby inducing a “magical coma” has been setting off speculations about her possible return.

According to recent reports, it has been informed that the actress is not going to join the cast for the final season due to the rumoured clashes with co-star Ian Somerhalder who portrays the character of Damon on the show.
It has been priorly announced how Ian’s wife, Nikki Reed was not at all approving of the on-screen love relationship of her husband with Nina Dobrev.
The speculations about Dobrev’s comeback were heightened after a cast member uploaded a picture which resembled the actress but the air was soon cleared off.
While the Dobrev fans are a bit saddened by the news, the show hinted on some additional cast to this season’s casting. It is rumoured that Kristen Stewart is set to make a guest appearance on the show playing the character of a Vampire.
There has been no apparent confirmation about the floating rumours and it looks like a new budding love interest for Damon is the final season seems too farfetched unless the character of Elena Gilbert had a body swap.
But we definitely are anxiously waiting for some snippets or hints about the possible additional casting in the final season.
The last season of the show ended with Damon and Enzo going on a killing spree after losing all the humanity within them while the second half of it showing Stefan along with their friends on a search trip for relocating them and bringing them back to their old self.
Now the fans are on the edge of their seats waiting anxiously to see what the season 8 has in store for them.
Some snippets and spoilers for the season 8 threw some insight on an on-going slaughter mode of Damon and Enzo even in this season. The other speculated plot spoiler was about the growing tension between Stefan and Caroline and a more on-screen presence of the couple.
Prior to the rumours about Nina’s comeback on the show, the show would have been seeing a separation of their very favourite “Stefaline” if Elena is to return. Many reports suggested that the possible return of the actress may result in Stefan and Caroline to break up and there may be a more inclination towards Elena.
When contacted with Plec said about the possible trials and hurdles that Stefan and Caroline are set to witness in the upcoming season. She further stated that there is nothing exciting about a happy plot line, it is always the touch of angst and heartbreaks and sadness that makes the plot interesting.

As much as I would love to indulge you all with the entire synopsis, it is definitely better if you see the episode to know the same. The season 8 of the season is expected to pay some tribute to the very first season of the show from where the journey started.
