Martin Still Working On Winds Of Winter, Fans Are Getting Impatient, Apple Releases Enhanced Edition With Animation

George R. R. Martin has been working on Winds of Winter for the past five years now. The author still isn’t in a position to reveal the release date. The fans are getting impatient with the slow pace of Martin’s work.

There was information on Amazon France website which fans believed was the supposed release date for Winds of Winter. The site later clarified the mistake and revealed that date was a placeholder.

The fans have been waiting for a long time to lay their hands on the sixth novel in the ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ series. They have urged Martin to pick up his pace, but Martin didn’t appreciate the behavior of the fans.

He informed the fans that it isn’t possible for him to write faster only because the fans are running out of patience. Fans are sure that Martin might have missed a lot of deadlines for Winds of Winter, but he doesn’t seem to care.

Martin’s publisher, Random House has come out to reveal that Martin is working hard on the manuscript for Winds of Winter. The fans will be informed by Martin and the publishers whenever the novel is ready to hit the shelves.

Martin had once assured the fans that he would try to complete Winds of Winter before the release of HBO’s Game of Thrones Season 6. That clearly wasn’t possible and not only did HBO start filming for the sixth season but completed a highly successful season. They have now proceeded to Season 7.

The readers are hoping that Martin will be able to complete the series before Game of Thrones Season 7. However, Martin hasn’t been one to be rushed, and there’s no knowing when he will finally complete the series.

Martin revealed at the Emmy’s that he has thousands of pages worth of matter for prequels to ‘A Song of Ice and Fire.’ This information should have excited the fans, but it didn’t. They immediately felt that Martin was putting Winds of Winter on hold to work on the prequels.

Martin has previously set Winds of Winter aside to work on the screenplay for Game of Thrones. He seems to be doing the same again, and fans do not appreciate it!

While the Game of Thrones fandom is ecstatic with Martin keeping up their hopes of a spin-off high, the readers are disappointed. They have been waiting to find out what happens after the ending of ‘A Dance with Dragons,’ but the wait refuses to end.

It looks like the fans are going to stop obsessing about the delay in Winds of Winter after seeing what Apple has in store for them. Apple decided to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Game of Thrones by launching an enhanced edition of ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ on iBooks.

Winds Of Winter

The Enhanced Edition of the novel will provide the fans an interactive experience. It also makes the complex plot structure, a lot more comprehensible to the first timers. The plot of A Song of Ice and Fire has a vast number of characters and stories.

Fans will get the opportunity to track each character’s journey and go deeper to find their connection with different houses and characters.

The fun doesn’t just stop here! The fans also get to read an excerpt from Winds of Winter. The Guardian confirmed that this was the same excerpt that was available on Martin’s website for a short time.

The 20th Anniversary Enhanced Edition will now let readers enjoy the excerpt. It will deal with the story of Theon Greyjoy.
