Although it is another superhero movie, “The Incredibles 2” would not be concentrating much on the superhero work of the protagonists of the movie. Instead, the film shall be focusing more on the characters and their relationships with one another.
This was confirmed by Director Brad Bird who said that such focus actually sets the upcoming movie apart from other superhero films that are released to theaters every now and then.
It could also be an indication that the previous speculations saying that Jack-Jack, the youngest of the Parr family is going to be the sequel’s big bad.
Towards the end of “The Incredibles,” it was revealed that Jack-Jack possesses the strongest power among the superhero Parr family. According to reports, the youngest Parr family member, who will already be a teenager in the upcoming sequel, will be confused with his power and will turn out to be a villain in the movie.
According to reports, Jack-Jack will grow to be a rebellious teenager who shall be confused with his superpowers. As he seeks to understand his powers, he will find his way toward the path of evil, eventually becoming a villain.
But his siblings, Violet and Dash, who will already be full-fledged adults by then, will strain their every nerve to bring the youngest Parr back into the right path, details the Ecumenical News.
In a previous interview, Bird said that he and the production team are trying to keep it focused in the area where the first film centered at, which is also more about characters and relationships and other stuff like that. “The Incredibles 2” is slated to hit theaters on June 21, 2019.
Scriptwriting now already complete
Director Brad Bird recently shared that the script for “The Incredibles 2” has already been completed.
He said that the writing team is pretty much having fun with the process of coming up with a story for “The Incredibles 2.”
Bird added that he has the story arc. But he is probably only three-quarters through the script but assured fans that they are already boarding parts of it.
It is likely that the show’s production would begin by next year although Director Brad Bird has not said anything official about it, especially with regards to its filming dates and locations, notes Game & Guide.
Working on the animation
Director Brad Bird has recently come out to say that the animation work for the “The Incredibles 2” is now underway following the completion of the film’s script.
This development means that the sequel to the 2004 hit animation is on course to meeting its June 21, 2019, global playdate on worldwide theaters with more than enough time for marketing and promoting the Disney-Pixar movie.
Bird said that just like him, all the production staff is moving actively and quite excited on the development of the sequel. He reiterated his previous statement that the focus of “The Incredibles 2” will be on its characters – the Parr family.
He said that “The Incredibles 2” would not be affected by the popularity of those films that are centered around superheroes, which have become a fad in movies these days, considering that they are considered to be the most profitable genre films.
The director said that he wants the movie’s feel and characters to be the same as the first movie but the plotline needs some new direction. He, however, did not reveal or confirm the rumored five-year time jump between the plotlines of the first and the upcoming second movie.
