The Motorola Moto X is a magnificent device considering the other premium devices that are available in its price range and the fact that this smartphone manages to stand out of the crowd so well is another distinguished fact aiding popularity. The Moto X2 is a little out of its league as compared to its predecessor, but the device still manages to uphold the integrity of a flagship smartphone quite well.
The Motorola Moto X will not be available in China, right in time for the Chinese New Year, or the Spring Fest, which is great news considering that the Chinese market was waiting for the premium smartphone to make an entry. This feat was achieved as Motorola Mobility was recently purchased by Lenovo, who have considered launching the smartphone in that part of the world.
The Motorola Moto X will be available to customers across China by February 19th, 2015, and if you have plans to purchase a premium segment smartphone this New Year, we suggest you wait a bit longer. Another positive news awaiting fans is that the Moto X features a price tag of 3499 and 3999 Yuan, depending upon the storage capability of the device.
The prices stand at $565 and $646 when converted and we must say that the pricing s quite steep. We sure hope Motorola has planned this one out, since the Chinese domestic market is filled with much cheaper alternatives such as Gionee and Xiaomi. Not to mention the recently launched OnePlus One.
All of these devices provide at par performance, if not better, than the Motorola Moto X, and this should be a reason for concern. However, Motorola is a well-established brand globally, and there have been no significant complaints regarding the Moto X. Hence, customers willing to pay an extra dime will have no reason to lament the decision.
China has blocked quite a few applications running on Google, but recent reports suggest that the situation is slowly evolving for the better. It is safe to add that there is still a considerable amount of time left for all the apps to perform to their entire capability, but that is not very far off.
Initial speculations further suggest that Lenovo will not install the Vibe UI on the device, which is actually a good thing, considering that the entire essence of the smartphone would have been rendered purposeless if such a thing was to happen. Motorola has teased the Moto X in China, and it seems to be paying off.
