‘Scandal’ Season 6 to Unfurl an Incredibly Great Story, Confirms Actor Who Plays President Fitzgerald Grant in the TV Series

When the US president says that something is good, most Americans would surely agree with his assessment. The producers and showrunner of the American political drama TV series “Scandal” on ABC seems intent on hyping the upcoming Season 6 of the show as such when US President Fitzgerald Grant, played by actor Tony Goldwyn in the show, revealed it to be one.

In a recent interview following the recent table reading of the cast members of the scripts of Season 6 of “Scandal,” Tony Goldwyn said that the upcoming season will have an incredibly great story once the show unfurls early next year, reports Game & Guide.

He said that showrunner Shonda Rhimes and her team have certainly poured in a tremendous amount of work to come up with great episodes for Season 6 of “Scandal.”

From 22 episodes in Season 5, the upcoming Season 6 of “Scandal” shall only have 18 episodes and it is not because the show is about to end anytime soon.

The reduction in the number of episodes for the show’s sixth season has something to do with the current pregnancy of TV series’ lead actress Kerry Washington with her second child. Washington plays White House fixer Olivia Pope in “Scandal.”

Rhimes has not said whether Washington’s pregnancy would be integrated into the “Scandal” Season 6 storyline or not but given the show’s deferment of release date and the reduction in the number of its Season 6 episodes, it seems that it would be hidden or not tackled at all in the TV series.

In fact, in the most recent trailer of “Scandal” Season 6 that is now uploaded to YouTube, it did not show Olivia being pregnant at all.

The actress was spotted during the Emmy Awards early last week very much pregnant but still looking gorgeous in her black outfit.

Taking off from the Season 5 finale

“Scandal” Season 6 shall reportedly pick up from the Season 5 finale which revealed who is running for the vice presidency in the upcoming US presidential election.

Olivia was also seen in the trailer running into the office of President Grant possibly to come up with another strategy on how to counter the decision of Cyrus, played by Jeff Perry, to run for vice president on the opposition ticket.

Millie, played by Bellamy Young, got the shock of her life about the decision of Cyrus. She represents the Republicans while Frankie, played by Ricardo Chavira, represents the Democrats. For the vice presidency, Jake, played by Scott Foley, will run against Cyrus.

Millie knows who Cyrus is so having him in running as vice president for the opposition means risk for everyone as the guy is a dirty soul and is the type of politician who will do everything to keep his power.

Even after the Season 5 finale, it is still not clear if Cyrus is indeed the real villain of the show or is just meant as a diversion. He has been betraying and scheming against Olivia at almost every turn alright but he is actually doing it to everyone, prompting his family to leave him too and making him look like a complete outcast.

Olivia will try to move heaven and earth just to ensure that Cyrus does not win as vice president, While Millie is looking to come up with her own strategy against Cyrus, the latter also has the beef on her since he was the Chief of Staff of former President Fitzgerald Grant.
