The final season of “Teen Wolf” will resume production for the remaining episodes in October as Dylan O’Brien, who plays Stiles Stilinski on the show has now fully recovered from his injuries and is ready to be back on set.
The MTV drama was delayed because of O’Brien’s injuries incurred from an accident that took place while he was filming scenes for the movie “Maze Runner: The Death Cure” in March.
Entertainment Weekly reports that the 25-year-old actor has fully recuperated and is now able to resume filming. The actor has reportedly started filming again for his other projects as well.
“The First Time” star already has an upcoming movie “Deepwater Horizon” hitting theaters next month while he has also been spotted filming another movie “American Assassin” in London.
Production is also set to resume for “Maze Runner: The Death Cure” later this year. The film was scheduled to hit cinemas in February 2017, but was rescheduled due to O’Brien’s accident. The film is the last of the trilogy based on the novel of the same name.
The final season of “Teen Wolf” will air on November 15 and fans can expect a lot to happen on the season premiere aptly titled “Memories.”
Speaking to EW, executive producer Jeff Davis says that the last season will be darker than previous seasons, but it will also tie up all loose ends in a great and satisfying way.
The showrunner adds that he turned emotional when they shot a particular scene wherein everyone doesn’t remember Stiles.
He adds that the hardest one was with Stiles and his dad, adding that Lynden Ashby, who plays Sheriff Stilinski, did so well in that scene.
Tyler Posey, who plays Scott McCall, is also collaborating on the storyline and will be making his directorial debut for the show. Posey says that the episodes he will direct will be very dark and he wishes that the last 20 episodes will leave a mark to fans.
MTV recently released a poster for the upcoming season and it shows O’Brien’s Stiles front and center of it. Earlier reports state that Stiles will be missing most of the first half of the season, but his absence will be part of the show’s storyline.
Davis said that the first half of the season will have fewer Stiles because he will be the target of the season’s big bad, the Ghost Riders.
Stiles will be erased from all of his friend’s lives as seen in the trailer. It was confirmed that Stiles will be abducted in the season premiere and will be gone for most of the first part of the season.
It also appears that Holland Roden’s Lydia will be the only one who can remember him and will be the one to save him.
Davis says that his friends will also soon realize that they are missing someone important in their lives and they will do everything it takes to get their memories of Stiles back.
Stiles’ disappearance was a clever storyline to give way for Dylan to shoot his upcoming film, at the same time, give him enough time to recover from his injuries.
As for Stiles and Lydia, it looks like it is the season for the two to finally admit their feelings to one another. Fans have been waiting for the two to get together since Stiles’ heroic act in Eichen house last season to save Lydia.
It was in Season 3 that the pair were revealed to have a special connection when they were each other’s emotional tether. They also worked together successfully in solving the mysteries that surrounded Beacon Hills in Season 4.
Meanwhile, there are reports saying that beloved characters from the season will make their return for the season finale.
