Fans of “The Walking Dead” are visibly excited by the upcoming seventh season of the show, yet at the same time there are multiple unknown factors that have been driving everyone crazy, and it looks like this season is going to drop a good number of revelations on viewers. Long-time fans should probably prepare themselves for some crazier occurrences too, if some of the rumors are to be believed.
One of the topics that tends to get most people’s attention is the fate of Carol and Morgan, as nobody is too sure what will happen to the two of them in the new season. Morgan went through some serious changes last season, precisely because of Carol too, and now those changes are going to come back to haunt him.
The striking difference between the two characters when it came to their policy on killing was one of the more interesting points about their relationship, and now that this has changed with Morgan’s decision to kill recently, we don’t know how they are going to interact in the coming episodes.
Carol was already finding it hard enough to deal with her own burden from all the killing she’s done, and now she might also have to endure this from Morgan’s side as well. This could significantly undermine their relationship, so hopefully we are not going to see them falling out over the course of the seventh season.
But of course, this is “The Walking Dead”, and ruining relationships is one of the things this show does best. We fully expect that there will be some head butting between the two sooner or later, and rumors imply that it will actually come quite fast.
Will Carol eventually be able to overcome her new perception of Morgan, or will the two keep getting more and more distant? This will probably be one of the more central points of the new season, so we don’t expect to see any major spoilers in this regard from the producers themselves.
Some of the previews for the new season imply that Carol will actually have no problem continuing her relationship with Morgan, but she will have to deal with some of her own personal issues before she’s able to do that. This implies that she doesn’t actually trust Morgan any less due to what he’s done, so it will be interesting to see how it all plays out between the two of them.
As for Morgan himself, it’s obvious that these events have affected his character severely as well. He originally adopted this philosophy for multiple reasons, but the main one was that it protected him and gave him a sense of safety. Now that he’s broken his own vows, we might see his character changing significantly.
This could push away Carol as well, or on the other hand the producers could use her character as a way of helping Morgan come to terms with his own actions. Whatever ends up happening, we’re certain that both of them are going to go through some serious transformations by the end of this season.
Other characters will be coming to terms with various revelations of their own as well, such as Spencer who will change his attitude towards Negan quite fast at some point. This has been coming for a long time, according to some fans, and it’s a development everyone pretty much expected, but it will still be interesting to see exactly how it plays out.
