Tesla Model 3 Sports a Price tag of $35,000, Company Receives 115,000 Orders on the First Day of Booking

The Tesla Model 3 is not on sale, but it is a mass-priced electric car. Moreover, it had a major impact on the electric car industry. The truth is that Silicon Valley car maker Tesla Motors got more than 350,000 people to deposit $1000 each for every Tesla Model 3.

They won’t be receiving their vehicles for the next 18 months or so. Tesla CEO, Elon Musk’s goal of increasing the company’s production by a factor of 10 in 3 years, starting from 50,000 in 2015 to 500,000 in 2018, was perceived to be delusional by most car companies.

Launching a new car model is quite challenging for established car makers, and it’s a lot more daunting when the vehicle you are about to launch is the fourth one for the company.

The complexity is further increased when the company needs a multi-billion-dollar battery factory which must go in production and churn out millions of lithium-ion cells so as to make the upcoming car possible.

As a result, many in the auto industry don’t believe that Tesla can meet its schedule punctually and start delivering product variants of the Tesla Model 3s by the end of 2017.  A survey was conducted to determine what people thought about this issue. It seems like Tesla has a lot of fans and followers among the masses.

A lot of people thought that if the schedule does manage to slip, it will only be by six months or so. According to a 34% of survey participants, the first Model 3s would start arriving the months of July and December next year, meeting with Musk’s promise. According to 38%, the first arrival date would slip to 2018’s first half.

According to 20%, it would happen in the month of July until December. It would be a year’s delay from the timing that was announced. Only a mere 8% said that the Model 3 would be arriving in 2019, later or never.

The survey indicated that people had a strong confidence in Tesla about delivering when they are supposed to deliver. Another survey needs to be done regarding the actual volume of the car and whether Elon Musk’s attempt to produce half-a-million cars by the end of 2018 is feasible or not.

The next big thing for the electric car industry is Tesla’s Model 3. It will be the company’s first affordable mass-production car. The vehicle is a major hit among fans and till now, 400,000 pre-order deposits have already been made, disregarding the fact that it will launch next year.

People witnessed Model 3’s design for the first time during its unveiling this year. We got a glimpse of the car’s interior, along with a look at its range and power. Keep in mind that what we have seen is the pre-production type, and there’s bound to be a few changes before the production model is finally launched.

Ever since then, Tesla has maintained a constant flow of information, but it is expected that a second event will take place, closer to the car’s official launch date. People will get to see the final production car for the very first time during the second event. The company will provide full details regarding the optional extras, battery packs and the final price.

In some ways, the Model 3 is expected to be a great car. It will be the cheapest and popular car from Tesla when it’s released. Moreover, it will be produced in significantly larger numbers upon release.
