Both Nexus 7 2016 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 will be releasing this year. The release dates are yet to be revealed but you need help deciding which of these two devices you should be interested in. According to the latest reports, Nexus 7 release date was reported to be on 4th October, as revealed by PC Advisor UK.
The report mentions that internet’s most popular leak-star @evleaks tweeted that the Nexus 7 will be released before the end of this year. Google will organise an event on 4th October, and speculations suggest that the company will reveal its greatest technology on that day.
Besides the Nexus 7, Google will also reveal its Pixel XL and Pixel X smartphones, Google Home and Daydream VR. Meanwhile, a lot of users have started predicting the possible features of the upcoming Google Nexus 7.
Rumours suggest that Nexus 7 will run on Qualcomm’s latest chip, the Snapdragon 820 SoC (System-on-a-chip) processor. The device will be running on 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage capacity, as reported by Android Authority.
On the other hand, Tab S3 from Samsung will be available in two different variants, a 9.7inch and 8inch screen with AMOLED panel and featuring 4K display technology.
According to reports from Mobile & Apps, Nexus 7 will be available at a display size of 7inches and AMOLED Quad Display panel. Pixel XL and Pixel, the two variants of Nexus will come out in 2560×1600 and 2560×1440 pixel resolutions respectively.
The Tab S3 will run on an Exynos 8890 Octa-Core chipset, which is quite similar to that of a Galaxy smartphone. It comes with 4GB of RAM and two internal storage variants of 32GB and 64GB. Compared to that, the Nexus 7 has a Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
Earlier, the internet rumour mill was going crazy about a new Nexus 7 tablet to be declared at the Google I/O event, on 18th May 2016. Sadly, that day came and went, and there was no sign of such a device. However, that doesn’t mean that the internet has stopped talking about the new Nexus 7.
The device is apparently in the pipeline and to be released before 2016 ends. We are already aware of the fact that Google is holding an event on 4th October, where the new Pixel XL and Pixel X smartphones will be released, along with Google Home and Daydream VR. It is possible that Google will be using this event to bring out the Nexus 7.
Rumours of a new Nexus 7 began last year in October, following a Trusted Reviews interview with Jonney Shih, the chairman of Asus. He said that when it comes to the first generation Nexus, both parties feel that it will be a great product with impressive functionality and price.
Even with the second generation Nexus 7, they migrated to a full-HD screen, and they still believe in such technological aspects. However, the next one involves a lot of discussion and planning.
In case you didn’t know, Asus was the manufacturer responsible for the production of first and second generation Nexus tabs, but Shih hasn’t confirmed that a third Nexus device will be entering production.
Moreover, rumours indicate that it is Huawei and not Nexus, which is behind the upcoming Nexus 7. The company has previously trademarked the name Nexus 7P.
It was recently confirmed by Huawei that it is making a Nexus device for 2016. A lot of spectators are convinced that HTC will be making both the Pixel phones. Therefore, a Nexus 7 tablet coming out of Huawei stables doesn’t sound impossible at all.
