‘Constantine’ Season 2 Could Be Next in the Pipeline After the Release of Season 1 on DVD and Blu-Ray Next Month!

Warner Bros has announced that it would be releasing the complete Season 1 of the American supernatural drama TV series “Constantine” on DVD and Blu-Ray on October 4. The announcement has subsequently triggered speculations that it is possible that Season 2 of the TV series could be next in line.

Critics believe that releasing all the 13 episodes of Season 1 of “Constantine” on both DVD and Blu-Ray will just add to the number of disappointed fans since the TV series ended in a major cliffhanger during the Season 1 finale episode.

It can be recalled that NBC canceled “Constantine” after its Season 1 finale last year. Showrunner Daniel Cerone has practically moved heaven and earth and also offered the show to other networks and streaming services just to give the TV series a fitting closure but there were no takers back then.

Since the producers decided to release the DVD and Blu-Ray version of Season 1 of “Constantine,” there are now speculations saying that it is possible that Warner Bros is priming itself for the production of Season 2 of the TV show.

Will be watching the TV series again

Matt Ryan, who plays the Hellblazer John Constantine in the TV series, said that he would be watching again “Constantine” when it comes out on DVD and Blu-Ray because he wants to revisit the character.

He admitted that he really enjoyed playing John Constantine since it allowed him to explore the character’s dark story.

It would really be useless for the British actor to revisit the John Constantine character and not having to do anything about it afterward.

Ryan said that he is happy that the fans now have the opportunity to experience the TV series on Blue-ray including all the bonus features, reports Movie News Guide.

While there is still no official statement from the producers of “Constantine” or any other network for that matter, the rumors are mostly saying that the TV show would eventually be picked up by another network and its second season would be filmed shortly thereafter.

There are also reports saying that Matt Ryan as John Constantine shall be appearing first on “Legends of Tomorrow” on The CW just like he did in last year’s episode of “Arrow” Season 4 before he finally starts filming for Season 2 of “Constantine.”

However, all these remain as speculations pending the confirmation of the executive producers of “Legends of Tomorrow” or perhaps officials from The CW.

Taking reign on the rumors

Daniel Cerone recently quashed the speculations saying that the show would possibly be revived for Season 2 by The CW network.

The rumors about the possible revival of “Constantine” for Season 2 on The CW began when the web channel of the network, called The CW Seed, started airing Season 1 of the TV series recently.

Fans and critics believe that The CW Seed would not be airing the Season 1 of “Constantine” if there was no plan at all to continue it since the TV series actually ended on a major cliffhanger.

Airing the Season 1 of “Constantine” would also make the viewers in The CW Seed disappointed as much as the viewers of the TV series were when NBC pulled the plug on the show after its premiere season because it left a major cliffhanger. It would be twice the disappointment if there is no continuity in the near future.

It seems like there is something in the works at the moment but The CW network does not want to spill the beans this early.
