OnePlus One Successor to Be Called OnePlus Two? Let’s See!

When the OnePlus One came out, it was quite the event – the phone was a more interesting offer than what most other companies in the Android market had, and it managed to remain in the news for a while. It was also marketed creatively, relying to some extent on viral advertisement in order to gain popularity – and it did so very successfully in the end. And even though the original OnePlus One is still quite powerful and handles anything on the Android app market perfectly, people are already talking about a potential successor.

According to yet unconfirmed rumors, the Chinese company is already planning their next phone, and it will reportedly be called OnePlus Two. Not much is known about its specifications, although the screen is reported to be a 5.5” one – no information on the resolution, however.

Another detail that was rumored was a new back camera, packing 16 megapixels along with a 5 megapixel front one. The device is also reportedly even more powerful than its predecessor, with a faster processor, more memory (though the exact amount is not known), and a better battery to power all of that new hardware.

However, those new specifications will reportedly come at a higher price as well, with the new model costing $550 if the rumors are true. All of this is still not confirmed officially in any form, and the company behind the OnePlus One hasn’t really hinted at a successor to the phone yet. However, it’s still a bit early for that anyway, and even if they are developing a new phone, it will likely be a while before they let their fans know about it.

Still, if the rumors are true, the new phone will hit the market after the middle of 2015, so there’s plenty of time for the company to make an official announcement and start hyping up their fans properly. It’s expected that the new phone will be surrounded by a similarly clever marketing plan like the first one, and rumors indicate that the company might even step up their game and do something more drastic to attract customers to their new product.

OnePlus One

The OnePlus One gained fame mostly due to its powerful hardware, although it currently has some fierce competition from other companies, which have started to offer similarly powerful Android devices. Still, the OnePlus One has the price advantage in many of those cases, so it would be a strange move for the company to make the next phone more expensive. All of the above is just a rumor at this point of course, and it may very well turn out that the OnePlus Two retains the price point of its predecessor.
