Game of Thrones Season 7 May See Jon Snow Legitimizing Gendry’s Real Lineage, And More!

The last time that Gendry, Robert Baratheon’s bastard son, was seen on the HBO hit TV series “Game of Thrones” was during Season 4 when he was about to be sacrificed by the Red priestess Melissandre to the Lord of Light to help Robert’s brother Stannis, wrests the iron throne from Tommen Baratheon.

But Ser Davos Seaworth allowed him to escape and he was last seen escaping Dragonstone in a rowing boat into the Narrow Sea, reports The Week of UK.

It seems that Gendry will show up in Season 7 of “Game of Thrones” as the actor who is playing the role, Joe Dempsie, was recently spotted at Belfast airport.

While there is still no confirmation from the showrunners or the cast members about the return of Gendry, the fact that the actor was seen covering his head with a hoodie when he was spotted at Belfast airport indicates that his appearance is also being kept under wraps.

Some fans and critics believe that Gendry has the right to claim the throne since he is a son of Robert Baratheon, but he needs to be legitimized first. He can also still lay claim to the iron throne upon legitimization if, and only if, Daenerys and her dragons do not succeed in booting out Cersei Lannister from the iron throne in King’s Landing.

Gendry is the only man in Westeros with Baratheon blood outside of Tommen after Cersei had all her husband’s bastard children slaughtered.

There are speculations saying that it would be Jon Snow, the new King of the North, who might legitimize Gendry Baratheon as Ser Davos is one of his advisors now. Only Davos, Melissandre, and Arya Stark know the true lineage of Gendry.

Fan-made trailers abound

Season 7 of “Game of Thrones” is not due to come out on HBO until summer of next year but fans are already speculating what its official trailer would look like, notes the Winter is Coming.

As a result, a number of fan-made trailers have already made it online and the latest one appears to be very well made that some critics describe it as something for Season 8 of “Game of Thrones.”

The trailer features Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen facing the Night King of the white walkers which critics feel as more like an end game material.

Although, it is now becoming obvious why the title of the fantasy novel series where the TV series is based from is called “A Song of Ice and Fire,” getting Jon Snow and Daenerys in an alliance of ice and fire will not happen as quickly as fans would like.

Apart from Cersei Lannister and the reinforced Mountain, there is also Euron Greyjoy to contend with before they finally deal with the Night King and the white walkers.

There is also an interesting scene in the fan-made trailer showing Daenerys walking through the Wall. This is consistent with speculations saying that that the Mother of Dragons would arrive at Castle Black to defend humanity’s last stronghold along with the King of the North as the Night King enters through the Wall. It is really something very exciting to look forward to in “Game of Thrones,” be it in Season 7 or Season 8.

In addition to fan-made trailers now whipping up a storm on the internet, there are also plenty of fan-made posters for viewers and critics of the most popular TV series today to chew on while waiting for an official announcement or material from HBO, which would only happen around the spring of next year.

Incidentally, Euron Greyjoy, played by Pilou Asbaek, showed up in Season 6 of “Game of Thrones” to lay claim to the kingdom of the Iron Isles, previously being held by his brother, Balon, played by actor Patrick Malahide.

He killed his brother before challenging Yara, played by Gemma Whelan, and Theon, played by Alfie Allen, for the leadership of the Iron Isles by volunteering to drown himself in the water.
