Fans of the upcoming flagship tablet from the Korean tech giant, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3, were disappointed last week when the device was not announced nor unveiled at the IFA 2016 in Germany.
It has been widely speculated before the IFA 2016 that Samsung would unveil the latest iteration of its flagship tablet line during the event.
Instead, Samsung launched the latest iteration to its smart wearable, the Galaxy Gear S3, featuring the Classic and Frontier variants.
There have been plenty of speculations regarding the features and specifications of the Galaxy Tab S3 but two of those that seem to stand out are reports saying that the tablet shall come out with a curved-edged display and that its display’s aspect ratio has been raised to 16:10, reports Headlines & Global News.
Coming out before the end of 2016
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is also rumored to come out in two variants, just like its predecessors, both with AMOLED touchscreen displays and an astounding 4K resolution.
The tablet shall come in 8-inch and 9.7-inch models, just like the Galaxy Tab S and the Galaxy Tab S2.
It will be carrying a decent 3GB RAM backed by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, with at least 32GB of internal storage but still expandable via a microSD card slot.
There are also reports saying that it is also possible that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 could come out with an octa-core Exynos 8890 chipset, similar to the processor of the Galaxy S7. The same reports are also saying that the device might have an alternate processor in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 instead of the less powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 652.
It is also expected that the device shall come out already laden with the Android 7.0 Nougat, which would justify it as the latest flagship tablet from the Korean tech giant. But there are also rumors saying that the device would come out with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow onboard instead but shall come with a free upgrade to the Nougat.
Despite its no-show at the IFA 2016, fans are still very optimistic that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 shall be unveiled before the end of this year, cites the Vine Report.
However, all these remain as speculations pending the confirmation or denial from the Korean tech company.
Plenty of innovations and enhancements
It has been reported that Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 shall come out with plenty of innovations and a more enhanced processor compared to its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, when it finally comes out.
The Galaxy Tab S3 shall have different storage and battery capacities for the two variants. The 8.0-inch variant will have 32GB of internal storage with a 4,000 mAh battery while the 9.7-inch model will be sporting a 64GB storage capacity and a very generous 5,870 mAh of battery power.
Still, the best attraction of the upcoming tablet from Samsung is its enhanced Qualcomm Snapdragon processor that shall come with a 3GB of RAM. It shall be coming out with a remarkable 2048 x 1536 screen resolution for that high definition display quality.
The device shall also feature an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. However, instead of the USB Type-C port that has become common in most modern gadgets today, the Galaxy Tab S3 shall still have a micro-USB port for charging and downloading/uploading purposes.
While Samsung has yet to come out with an official announcement regarding the retail price of the Galaxy Tab S3, rumors have it that the base model, most likely for the 8.0-inch variant, shall start at $399.
