As “Orphan Black” is coming to an end with its fifth season, we’ve been hearing more and more interesting rumors about the show’s future. Some are more worrying than others, such as the claim that various characters will be killed off before the end of the last season, and the show could leave things on a pretty grim note.
While the rumors are not confirmed yet, they definitely sound like something the producers of this show would do. The previous seasons have gone through some very explosive moments, and in the end fans have gotten used to the idea that things can take a 180-degree turn at any moment. For many, this is just part of the show’s charm.
Who exactly could be taken out of the equation once the new season arrives to the screen though? No specific names have been pointed out yet, but in the very least, the rumors seem to indicate that multiple characters are being targeted for removal.

As can be expected, the showrunners didn’t really reveal anything we didn’t already know, but they did hint at an ending that will please most fans. It sounds like the producers have been hard at work trying to find a way to end this show on a positive note, and this somehow speaks against the idea of major characters dying.
Of course, that could still happen at an earlier point during the season, allowing the producers to use the following episodes for some recovery. If this happens, we expect that the first episodes of the new season could actually be full of some dramatic moments, possibly even starting on a negative note.
Some characters have been hinted to have a more positive start of the season, but fans of “Orphan Black” should be well aware how fast things can change in this show, and how unexpectedly the writers sometimes tend to introduce new developments.
The show has had a great run so far, and while its fans are obviously sad to see it go, it’s always better to end a production like this on a positive note instead of dragging it on forever just for the sake of viewership. Fans will always prefer to see more episodes of course, but if that means seeing the show ruined by repetitiveness and lack of substance, then obviously the better choice is to pull the plug in a timely manner.
Other hints for season 5 indicate that we might get some major revelations about some characters, possibly painting them in a completely different light. It hasn’t been specified who this concerns, however.
Helena will at least get some interesting developments around her character, as she will find herself with a new love interest. Whether or not that part of the story will turn out okay for her is hard to tell, and we expect that the writers might be preparing some more unpleasant developments on that front.
