There might be a lot of hype about the new 4K games, but that doesn’t stop the avid fans of Grand Theft Auto. They are still enjoying the fifth installment of the game and are currently awaiting GTA 6.
Despite all the hype about GTA 6, Rockstar Games is making sure that the fans are focused on GTA 5 for now, and hence haven’t revealed any information about GTA 6.
Rockstar Games had announced Grand Theft Auto 6 at E3 2016. This got the fans super excited, but it didn’t answer any of their queries. Rockstar Games was particular about not divulging any information on GTA 6 and hence the fans couldn’t get any answers.
It is evident that Rockstar Games isn’t going to let GTA 6 steal the thunder from GTA 5. This year’s plan was to make GTA 5 successful, and they had simply made an announcement that GTA 6 is on the cards for next year. They didn’t want the fans to look forward to the next title and lose focus on the game at hand.
Keeping this in mind, the fans should realize that while GTA 5 was the primary focus for E3 2016, GTA 6 is going to be in focus during E3 2017. Grand Theft Auto 5 released back in 2013 but was re-engineered to suit the requirements of the current gaming consoles.
GTA 5 was one of the most successful installments of the franchise. However, it had its share of problems as well. Rockstar Games was sued by Lindsay Lohan since she felt that one of the characters in the game was modeled on her, without her permission. This case was filed in 2014 and was dismissed a few weeks back.
She had stated that the developers of the game had used images in her likeness for the promotion, without her consent. Lohan claimed that Lacey Jonas’ character was based on her. A blonde character in a red bikini can be seen in the promotional content of Grand Theft Auto 5 and Lindsay brought out a similar photo of hers to make her case.
Lindsay Lohan wasn’t the first person to file such a lawsuit against Rockstar Games and GTA 5. Karen Gravano, from the Mob Wives, also made the same claim. She said that the character of Andrea Bottino was based on her. Gravano even stated that some of her life events had been adapted into the game, without her permission.
Given these issues surrounding GTA 5, many feel that Rockstar Games should focus on ironing out the creases before they go ahead with GTA 6. iTech Post has gone ahead to claim that GTA 6 is ‘likely’ to release around 2018.
However, no official confirmation from Rockstar Games has been made so far, and this has given rise to further speculations, which claim that the title might release around 2020!
While there is no news on GTA 6’s release date, certain fan groups are using their imagination to decipher the plot for the upcoming game. Some feel that GTA 6 is going to move away from the streets of United States and focus on other popular destinations. Christian Times reported that GTA 6 might be based in Manila, Philippines.
